We went to Grand Canaria a couple of years ago. We are a couple, both in our early thirties. It was our first visit to the canaries and I think we would go back when we have seen the other parts of the world that are also on our list.

We stayed in the lively resort of Playa del Ingles and I think I would say there is plenty for all ages. There are nightclubs for the younger crowd; pubs and bars and restaurants a plenty.

Accommodation is generally of quite a good standard from what we saw. We stayed in self catering apartments about 20 mins walk from the sea and our walk down took us past much of the holiday accommodation, most of which was traditional low-rise canarian apartments.

One of the main features of Playa del Ingles is the golden sandy beach which stratches for miles. Certainly no black volcanic stuff here!

I would reccommend a trip to Playa del Ingles to anyone looking for a good time in a place where the weather is always sunny.
