Advantages: Sea,Sand,Sun,Serenity & Sounds.
Disadvantages: Heading Home
This summer it will be the 7th time I've been to Ibiza aka The White Isle.
People say they will never go to the same place twice but that isn't the case for me. Ibiza is an amazing experience whatever your into.
If your a Judge Jules fan and love the sun then Ibiza is the perfect holiday for you, with a huge choice of clubs to choose from such as Privilege & Amnesia where you can see your favourite DJ's live (Paul Van Dyk, Judge Jules, Carl Cox...) Eden & Es Paradis are two of my favourite, not as big as some but the are directly opposite each other and hold host to some great events including Liverpool’s finest event (Garlands) @ Eden. El Divino & Pacha are for the classy people no sweaty bodies in the people oh no maybe if you flash your Dior sunglasses & sip a glass full of Moet ,you should be ok!! :-/.
If you've heard of Ibiza then you've heard of the famous West End strip.
250 Bars, Pubs & Clubs to choose from. If you feel home sick then you have a fine choice of English, Irish, Scottish & Welsh pubs, which make you feel at home.
There's also a good choice of mini clubs such as Eden Rooms (Same music as Eden, Half the size but a great warm up if your going there after). Mr. Toffs is another choice if you’re into your dance music. Avoid Yate's otherwise you will feel like your at a funeral. The only drinker you'll see in there is the barman.
There is also a few nice chill out bars such as Krystals with lovely staff (Hello Chris). Try to avoid The Amsterdam bar, its like it's been removed from the red light district itself and plonked in San An it's very seedy with dodgy (Spiked Drinks) going around.
There is also a selection of restaurants including 'The Godfather' bar, which is my favourite, good but cheap food.
As most people know Ibiza, as well as many other holiday destinations don't use measurements for alcohol so you can get double, as drunk for half the price just don't forget to say WHEN!!
The holiday season starts from end June/July but if you want to be in the throws of it all then the best time to go is August and September (For the Closing parties)
Drinks can be expensive in the clubs ranging from £3-£10 but your on holiday so it's worth it.
If you’re not into getting drunk, singing, dancing until you've lost 4 stone & getting chatted up then don't panic. Ibiza isn't just for the rowdy.
Away from the madness of San Antonio and San Antonio Bay you have an amazing choice of quiet villa's to stay at right in the heart of the mountains, by the beach or tucked away somewhere secluded. Not a tourist in sight (apart from you of course).
Santa Eulalia is beautiful and peaceful, Cala Gracio, Cala Llonga or even St Miguel are lovely little spots to stay or even relax after a hard nights clubbing. About 20 minutes drive away from the hustle & bustle if you miss it.
Flying from the UK takes roughly 2 hours, weather you fly during the day or at night you know when you've reached Ibiza with the florescent harbour lit with electric blue lighting, glowing yachts and of course half the plane shouting *OI OI* (I feel sorry for the cabin crew who have to do it 5 times a day).
If you have a severe hangover and you want to relax for the day the why not take a boat trip to some of the popular islands such as Cala Conta or Cala Bassa with crystal clear waters and sparkling sea life it would be a shame to go home not experiencing it.
It's strange but for the party capital of the world, when your away from it all you feel an enormous sense of well-being. I was coming back from Cala Conta In September with my fiancé, We were on a boat and as I stood on the deck leaning over, looking into the ocean I felt like there was no where else on earth that I would rather be.
Ibiza is expensive (being the party capital of the world and a holiday home to some of the most famous DJ's on the globe) and you could easily over spend, but if you save up long and hard you won't regret coming home broke, if anything's for sure, you'll be planning your next trip to the white isle.
Summary: Ibiza...Worth the money.

- 05/04/07 Fortunately (for you!) this isn't all of our ideas as the perfict holiday - if it were, Ibiza would be even more packed than it already is. No, not a "must" in my case....more a "must not" really! A very good review all the same. Richard. |
