Advantages: Stunning beaches

Disadvantages: none

We have been going to Ibzia now for 12 years so thought I would share some my views of this stunning island with you.

Ibiza may be well known for its partying & wild nights out, but that's not all Ibiza has to offer. It's a jewel in the crown of the Balearic Islands, ideal for a family holiday.

We have found a perfect base for our holiday, Cala LLonga a short drive from St. Eulalia and within easy reach of the airport.

What makes the resort a family destination is its fine sandy beach which is very child friendly Cala Llonga is situated in a beautiful bay surrounded by rocky cliffs. The beach is wide, deep and sandy ( soft not gritty ) and is clean, the sea water is clear . The beach slopes very gently down into the sea and is safe and shallow. At the top of the beach is a children's play ground which is shaded by pine trees, with benches for parents to sit and relax
Cala Llonga has every thing you need in a resort, plenty of restaurants, a few bars, internet cafés, small supermarkets, a chemist, and parking spaces even in the summer you should be able to park no problems. The up & Inn bar serves great food, staff are very friendly and they have different entertainment going on most evenings.
We stay in Pueblo Esparragos Apartments, privatley owned appartments so all are different. They are however situated on a hill side so you may have a few steps to climb !! The appartments have everything you need for a self catering holiday. Safes are available for rental as are fans. The appartemnts are ran by a group of lovely ladies. There are 2 pools both with bars serving snacks through out the day, For your evening meal should you not wish to leave there is the Wild asparagus restaurant. For a more laid back evening The Bunch of Grapes is a must!!!
Although Cala Llong has all you need for a family holiday if you can hire a car and go see ome of the beautiful beaches this island has. There are so many to list but here are our favrioutes:
Cala San Vicente Beach a Curve of soft sand with clear shallow waters, safe for children, a real relaxing day. Take care when driving here the road is very bendy but the view of the bay is breath taking.
Benirras Beach a small bay surrounded by pine covered hill sides. Sand is not as soft as other beaches the sea is shallow but slightly stony.
Cala Conta two small sandy beaches, steps down from the car park so be careful. No shade here and it can get packed. Not the best beach for children to be honest but if you have never been it is worth a trip even if only to look as it is beautiful. As I mentioned there are loads of beaches some small others large with heaps of sun beds it really depends on what you like. I would suggest jump in your car get a map and hit a beach if it's not your cup of tea they drive to the next one.

For a day out you could try Aguamar a water park in Playa d'en Bossa I haven't been but my teenage daughter & husband have and they both loved it!!!

For shopping try Santa Eulalia you can get the bus from Cala LLonga or jump on the boat from the beach! The boats run regular from Cala LLonga to Santa Eulalia you could spend the day there or jump on another boat to various places around the island. One trip I would say do is Formentera. There is a boat once a day from the beach. It is a long day but Formentera has the most stunning beaches pure white sand and clear turquoise waters. Be warned though there are nudists there. There is a short walk over rocks once you get of the boat but the views are stunning. We took a cool box with us with plenty of drinks and a parasol for some shade go prepared and have a relaxing day on the beach really safe for the children and you will think you are in paradise.
My view on Ibiza not just for partying but great for families or couples who want a taste of every thing.

Summary: Not just for wild nights out
