Advantages: great weather and plenty to do
Disadvantages: bit pricey in places
Ive been to Ibiza 4 times now, and although its not everyones cup of tea, if it is you cup of tea then you in for a treat.
Ibiza is known for its serious clubbing scene but there is much more to the island, and is a very popular family resort.
Ill start with the clubbing, most clubs only get goin after midnight and carry on till 7am and beyond, then of course theres the after clubs for you to carry on dancing away.
The main clubs on the island are:
Eden
Space
Es Paradis
Pacha
Amnesia
El divino
On average it costs between 30-55 euros to gain entry to these clubs, however you can get discounts if you shop around.
These clubs are based in the 2 main clubbing resorts of playa d'en bossa and san antonio. Playa d'en bossa is home to space, and also has bora bora beach, which is a free entry bar which plays music during the day and where a lot of clubbers gather late afternoon for a pre club dance and get together.
San antonio also boasts a great place to watch the sunset, if you go down to where the sea front bars are like cafe del mar, cafe mambos are then a lot of people gather for a beautiful view of the sun setting. get your camera ready for this!
The old town in Ibiza, which is also the capital, has a strong gay scene but is also full of amazing restaurants and shops, you can spend hours here with the family or friends and get some lovely local products and top of the range clothing and accessories. There is also many nice buildings to see and the old castle to look around, there are plenty of little streets and avenues to go down and get lost or wander about, and there is the marina aswell where many rich people dock to visit the town. a must visit when on the island.
There are plenty of boat trips to go on from the marinas, take trip a formentera aswell, nice beaches and plenty of scenary to view. A nice day out for the family.
The beaches are very nice in Ibiza, the one at playa d'en bossa is about 3-4 miles long and the sand is great with the sea nice and warm in the late summer, there are plenty of beaches to go and visit, ive only been to a few but none of them were poor and many of them are even better ive heard.
The hotels and apartments are ok on the island, there are some for all types of people, family resorts, up market, all inclusive, bed and breakfasts, hostels, apartments. Theres something there for everyone. And of course the weather is great aswell, you will get some rain in Ibiza, but it should only be for the odd day or so in the summer.
Overall theres something here for everyone, it not just a clubbing capital, theres much more and i would recommend the place for anybody of any age to go visit.
Summary: a great island with plenty to do for everyone
