Holiday Resorts in Malta

Newest Review: ... head towards the south of Malta or to the island of Gozo. Gozo can be reached via ferry from the north of Malta. You can drive from one of of Malta to the other in not much more than an hour, or if you prefer, the local buses departing from Valletta can take you to most places including the ferry terminal. Cars are relatively cheap to rent in Malta (about £100 for a small car for a week) but the buses are very cheap. I would recommend sticking to the buses if you are staying in a resort eg St Julians; Melieha, and having a car if you are in a less lively location. From late May throughtout the summer, head to one of the local towns ... more

We had been to Malta a few times, this time (May 2009) staying in a villa in a rural part of the South between Zejtun and Masascala. There is something for everybody in Malta; seaside resorts; fishing villages; lively centre of Valetta; history; countryside. If you would like a more peaceful holiday head towards the south of Malta or to the island of Gozo. Gozo can be reached via ferry from the north of Malta. You can drive from one of of Malta to the other in not much more than an hour, or if you prefer, the local buses departing from Valletta can take you to most places including the ferry terminal. This is a review about the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa in Malta. It is located over looking the Golden Bay beach and it's about 20 mins drive from the airport. This was our first holiday abroad with our baby (6 months). We flew out on Easyjet from Manchester. Why did we go there? It was a really cheap week abroad for good quality accommodation. All we had to do was attend the obligatory timeshare presentation (more about that later). The hotel Based over three blocks it is located on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Sandy Beach. It claims to be five stars but 4 is probably more accurate. It has views over the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Qwara/Buggiba (141 words)

Rating:

Think of Qwara/Buggiba as Southend but sunnier. It boasts Kareoke bars, English pubs,Bingo hals, Pizza Restaurants and McDonalds. There are no childrens play areas. 2 nightclubs that are dives. The place is full of abandoned developments. The place is dirty with broken pavements. The souvenier shops offer real tack. Naturally the place attracts the British tourist who pleasures are simple. There is also the occasional sewage like smell from the salt pans. The Bus Terminus is a good place to get around Malta. They use characterful 30 year old buses that have fare in pennies. The view over St Paul's bay can be a pleasant stroll. There are a couple ...  Read the complete review
