Advantages: Bus Terminus

Disadvantages: Noisy, Few decent restaurants, No Charm

Think of Qwara/Buggiba as Southend but sunnier.
It boasts Kareoke bars, English pubs,Bingo hals, Pizza Restaurants and McDonalds. There are no childrens play areas. 2 nightclubs that are dives. The place is full of abandoned developments. The place is dirty with broken pavements. The souvenier shops offer real tack. Naturally the place attracts the British tourist who pleasures are simple. There is also the occasional sewage like smell from the salt pans.

The Bus Terminus is a good place to get around Malta. They use characterful 30 year old buses that have fare in pennies.
The view over St Paul's bay can be a pleasant stroll.
There are a couple of decent restaurants, Venus and the pizza restaurant round the corner. Avoid the Buccaneer, where I recived the worst food poisoning I have ever had.

Don't remember Buggiba but will avoid it in future. We found St Georges a good base for exploring the island though. Food was good but not cheap - English prices.
