Holiday Resorts in Morocco

Newest Review: ... to go, but instead took us about a mile away to try and sell us something!! We learnt from that experiene and hired a registered tour guide for a day who took us around the city and introduced us to the locals. The rest of the holiday was great and we were hardly harrassed at all! Marrakech has amazing places to eat and shop, we picked up great bargains on leather. The main square (Djemaa el Fna) is the meeting place for a lot of the locals, especially in the evening. You'll find a lot of street entertainers there such as snake charmers, monkeys and musciains. Within the main square there is a lot of food places, we were advised not to ea... more

I visited Marrakech with my husband and had a thoroughly enjoyable trip. I wouldn't recommend it as a holiday for those not interested in seeing the different cultures, as Morocco is extrememly different to what we are used to. Begging is rife and you can't get very far in the streets without someone asking for money, or wanting to show you something. We got caught out on the first day when we got lost and couldnt find our hotel, someone offered to show us where to go, but instead took us about a mile away to try and sell us something!! We learnt from that experiene and hired a registered tour guide for a day who took us around the city and introduced us to the locals. ...  Read the complete review

It is an absolute tourist trap where in some areas it is quite frightening to be. Do not believe what you read in magazines or travel guides, until you have visited you can not prepare yourself for what it is like. I sound quite negative here and this is because I had thses great images in my head of travelling around the Souks buying cheap quality goods and enjoying lots of tasty street food and street enteratinment. I can only describle the main square in Morocco as hell on earth. You can ...  Read the complete review

Well, what can I say? We went to Agadir and ok, it was like any other resort you could go to, but Iam afraid I did not like the people and begging is rife, but the real pests are the ones on the beaches and in the street shops....Sometimes you find it impossible to get away until you are forced to buy something from them! They are very clever at this hard sell, and I found it all too overwhelming! We went on a trip over the mountains and there we saw great poverty, and filth.....then onto Marrakech, where I have never seen so many awful people badgering you for money non stop....even to have their photo taken! I believe some even have their legs or hands ...  Read the complete review
