Holiday Resorts in RhodesNewest Review: ... a lush valley; where you will find millions of butterflies every year. In my opinion the best beach on the Island is in Lindos, and there is a beautiful little chapel right beside the water which is well worth a look, and a few photos. Having said that the Island has many lovely beaches, Ixia, Kalathos and Pefkos to name a few. All are worth a day at, you'll have to decided for your self ... more |

Rhodes is a small Greek Island which lies about 11 miles off the southwest coast of Turkey. It is one of over 6000 islands which belong to Greece. It is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands, and has a population of around 110,000 people. It is home to the Colossus of Rhodes (which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World). Rhodes old town (which is actually a city!) is also a world heritage site. Rhodes is one of Greece's largest tourist destinations. I can talk about Rhodes with some amount of authority, as I lived there for 3 years as a teenager, and went to school on the Island. I have since visited and have been amazed at how much it has changed. I ... Read the complete review

Rhodes is a beautiful place it was very quiet when we went in June. The temperatures were around 23 degrees as we stayed on the west coast of the island. We hired a car and got extremely lost on our adventure to Lindos. I am a nervous passenger but the roads were very wide and we hardly met any traffic. We turned the wrong way and ended up going up a very steep mountain which was hair raising but once we got to the top we just had to get out and admire the view. It really is a picturesque island. Once we got back on the right road it took about 30 minutes to get to Lindos. It was about 10 degrees hotter there as it is a little cove. We went and had a drink on ... Read the complete review

The Choice... This was my first holiday away with my mum (we now go away each year for a week) and one of her closest friends, and after browsing through countless brochures we finally chose the little resort of Haraki in Rhodes for the first week in June, staying at the Stella Studios sharing a two bedroomed apartment. We booked a bargain package at £199 each. The journey.... We depart from East Midlands airport early evening, and board our 4 hour flight to Rhodes with 'Aegean Airlines'. Mum is in for a shock, when the unusually dressed steward (jeans and a t-shirt) asks what she would like to drink she requests a brandy and soda, 'no brandy', she ... Read the complete review

Rhodes the sun island is aptly named with its wonderful climate boasting 300 days of sun each year. It’s the largest Island of the group called Dodecanese (twelve islands) and lies about eleven miles west of Turkey. The capitol is Rhodes town with its magnificent harbour, ancient buildings and fortifications well worth a visit. A short bus ride from Rhodes town brings you to the village of Kremasti, a much-overlooked little fishing village with a shingle beach and plenty of atmosphere. My partner Allan and I stayed here in 2001 in the Margarita Apartments close to the village centre and unfortunately rather near to the Airport but what we had saved by choosing a ... When most people think of Rhodes, they think of Faliraki, probably the party capital of Greece and therefore its influence reigns over the island. Wrong! There is a secret hidden on the coast of Rhodes called Lindos. The village is set on a hill below an acropolis that overlooks the Greek village and sheltered blue water coves. By day you can walk around the village or take a donkey ride to the top of the acropolis. By night the village comes alive. The bars open the restaurants become busy with a great atmosphere about the place. The Greeks are friendly and the man that runs the pedaloo’s by day has his own bar by night! You must respect the Greek work ... Read the complete review
