Advantages: close by and easy to drive to

Disadvantages: Lindos get really warm so take sun cream

Rhodes is a beautiful place it was very quiet when we went in June. The temperatures were around 23 degrees as we stayed on the west coast of the island. We hired a car and got extremely lost on our adventure to Lindos. I am a nervous passenger but the roads were very wide and we hardly met any traffic. We turned the wrong way and ended up going up a very steep mountain which was hair raising but once we got to the top we just had to get out and admire the view. It really is a picturesque island.

Once we got back on the right road it took about 30 minutes to get to Lindos. It was about 10 degrees hotter there as it is a little cove. We went and had a drink on the beach and a paddle in the warm water. There were people snorkelling and were raving about the fish. Looking out to see from the cove there are massive rocks sectioning the cove from the sea so the water really is warm and very clear.

The following day we visited Rhodes town to have a look around the market, we went on the bus which stops just over the road from the hotel. It cost 8 Euros for both me and my partner return. It was a great day out. Where you get off the bus there is a square where we had a drink and some food it was more expensive than going off the beaten track but it was so nice, well worth it.

We then went for a walk around the marina where they have various party boats to look
around, you can hire them out. We walked back around the castle ruins and had a look in the shops. It is a very relaxed town and the locals are very friendly, I would highly recommend these two trips.
