Holiday Resorts in Turkey in general

Newest Review: ... else. The drivers in Turkey are mad. We were on the coach for around 1 hr and a half as much as it was mad, I felt safe on the coach. We arrived at our hotel, My Dreams and checked into our room, it was early hours or the morning so my partner and I got a few hours sleep before checking everything out. We got up around 9 oclock bearing in mind the 4 hour time difference, we got breakfast which was a buffet style with all types of food you can imagine. It was lovely. We then went around the hotel to check it out, the hotel had a lovely bar with cheap food and drinks. It had food areas for you to eat around the pool, it had a lovely poo... more

I went on my first holiday to Turkey in 2006. This was my first ever holiday abroad. When my partner first told me he had booked it for my 18th I was a bit vary as I had heard a lot of bad comments about Turkey how is was a diry country and has very sleazy guys. We travelled with Thomas Cook and it was a pleasure travelling with them they done evertyhing they could for us, and with that being my first time flying I was a bit scared and unsure but they calmed me down and reassured me. We got to Dalaman airport and I was unsure what to expect I looked around and all I could see was guards with guns and Turkish people around. I was again a bit scared but my ...  Read the complete review

I went to Icmeler which is just outside Marmaris for a week in July 2007. It was a late booking and Turkey seemed to be the only thing availible in my price range. Turkey's never really been a place where i thought i would like to go to but i thought i'd give it a go, and by the end of the holiday i didn't want to leave! The weather when i was there was really really hot, but luckily in most shops/hotels/restraunts there is air conditioning. If you can't handle the heat however, i would not reccomend going to Turkey. The beach in Marmaris is ok, theres sun loungers everywhere that you can use, but you need to pay for them. Theres restraunts / bars / shops ...  Read the complete review

Having been looking for a cheap getaway this year, it seemed the main option to go to Turkey as it has always been a popular holiday destination and a place that both me and my boyfriend had never been before, so Turkey it was, the only other issue that we needed to bypass was which particular area in Turkey we would like to go to. Marmaris was our first option, however after several attempts at booking a holiday on teletext holidays it seemed as though we were not going to get what we were looking for. We then decided on Altinkum which is in Didim, on the Aegean Coast of Turkey. Altinkum is around 1 hour to 2 hour transfer from Bodrum Airport, it ...  Read the complete review

Like every year last year I went into my travel agents and asked where I could go for a week for £1000. I wanted somewhere that my two young kids would enjoy as well as me and my husband but somewhere not children orientated, (I like my own kids but who wants loads of other peoples kids splashing around the pool on your holiday). Going Places suggested Gumbet in Turkey. It would cost £1100 for our family of four and was self catering. I gladly went with there suggestion. Flying form my local air port (Humberside) It took only 3 and a half hours to get there and we landed in Bodrum airport. This is a small and rather shabby air port, men trying to carry ...  Read the complete review
