Advantages: Cheap/Clean country

Disadvantages: Can be sleazy but were dont you get these people

I went on my first holiday to Turkey in 2006. This was my first ever holiday abroad. When my partner first told me he had booked it for my 18th I was a bit vary as I had heard a lot of bad comments about Turkey how is was a diry country and has very sleazy guys.

We travelled with Thomas Cook and it was a pleasure travelling with them they done evertyhing they could for us, and with that being my first time flying I was a bit scared and unsure but they calmed me down and reassured me. We got to Dalaman airport and I was unsure what to expect I looked around and all I could see was guards with guns and Turkish people around. I was again a bit scared but my partner reassured since he had been 5 times before this. At the airport we paid out £10 to get into the Country and collected out luggage. We then went and got our coach which was taking us to the hotel. The coach ride was something else. The drivers in Turkey are mad. We were on the coach for around 1 hr and a half as much as it was mad, I felt safe on the coach.

We arrived at our hotel, My Dreams and checked into our room, it was early hours or the morning so my partner and I got a few hours sleep before checking everything out. We got up around 9 oclock bearing in mind the 4 hour time difference, we got breakfast which was a buffet style with all types of food you can imagine. It was lovely. We then went around the hotel to check it out, the hotel had a lovely bar with cheap food and drinks. It had food areas for you to eat around the pool, it had a lovely pool and always played music to keep everyone amused. The hotel inside had the restruant were you ate all meals and its own hairdressing/beauty salon. The first day we got there was lounged around the pool and ordered from the pool bar some beers and wine, these cost around 2 3 lire, for their local/own brand. These tasted just as nice as beer and wine you get back here in Uk.

After the first day of finding our surronding we went walks to find other parts which of the area we would like to check out.

We found a really nice restruants called Caprice and it was that nice that we ate lunch and dinner there every night for the 14 nights we were there. It was lovely and the staff were really great. Turkey is famous for being cheap and having markets.

Turkey has lively bars/pubs which stuff are always going on. We did not go into any of the bars or clubs, but I hear Bar Street can be good but just be careful.

Whilst we were in Turkey we went to the Waterpark which was priced at 20 lire and that was transport there and back from the hotel, I would recommend going to the waterparks as these have slides and rides which are amazing and cool you right down in the warm heat in Turkey.

We also went on a all you can drink boat cruise for 10 lire, this was transport from hotel to marina and back. We left hotel at 10am and arrived back about 6pm. It was a great day and the warmth of the sunshine was jst great. We got our lunch on the boat and ice lollies and sweets were avialable to buy on the boat, the boat made a few stops were people could get off and swim around the sea for about 15 - 20 mins before making a stop at the main land where people had 1hr to shop around and then return to make the journey back.

Also whilst in Turkey we visited the Markets which were fantastic, altho the clothes/items are fake they are good fakes and you can always haggle with Turkish people to get them to bring the price down. There is always a bargain to be found at the markets.

I found Turkey very cheap and a very nice country to be visiting.

Altho some of the guys are sleazy but in what country dont you get these people?

I would recommend Turkey to anyone who loves heat and wants to have a cheap/funfilled holiday.

Summary: A place for all couples/families to visit

Sorry for rating but you have barely scratched the surface of this huge country. You have told me about a restaurant called Caprice, a waterpark and that it has lively bars and clubs! If you were to read around the travel category it might give you a better idea of what makes a review useful or even very useful.

Seems to be common theme, I also had a poor opinion of the country but have been in Istanbul now and apart from the odd incident, the people are really friendly and the place very modern.
