Advantages: Staff friendly and helpful, lovely accommodation
Disadvantages: Some parts of park not quite as good as advertised
I recently visited my first Hoseasons with the family and as holiday parks go its the best ive been to yet. We visited the Atlantic Lodge Park just outside Newquay which we found on a late deal.
The accommodation offered by Hoseasons was fantastic. The decor was light, airy and immaculately clean. For just £299 we got a four bedroom luxury house with 3 bathrooms including a jacuzzi bath and a large kitchen including dishwasher. The accommodation should have been £680 for four days so we feel we got a real bargain so take note if you are looking to visit a hoseasons park you can get some really great deals if you book less than a month before departure.
As for the site itself it had a lot on offer for all ages. A heated indoor and outdoor pool, lounge/bar, tennis courts, gold course, play area for younger children and a teen den for young adults and also a 'pamper' area with sauna, solarium, jacuzzi and manicures/pedicures/facials available (though beware these all come at extra cost and they are pretty expensive).
A few niggles i found with this particular park are that even though live entertainment was advertised there was none the whole time we were there even though it was the middle of June (high season). Someone else also complained about this whilst we were there. The 'heated' pool was freezing and when we arrived we had no hot water. Also the spa area is only open at certain times. Giving them their dues though less than an hour after we made our complaint the maintenance men were on our doorstep to fix it.
The above particulars are found at most parks and although i feel we got a bargain with our accommodation booking late i do not believe it would have been great value for money had we paid the full price.
A few things to consider when booking with hoseasons. They do allow pets however you do have to pay extra, accommodation is no smoking, they supply very little in the way of towels and we had no tea towel at all so a good idea to bring you own and as with other parks they tend not to have a shop on site and it was a couple of miles to the nearest so you may want to take some supplies with you.
On the site we visited we found the staff to be very helpful and pleaseant and the website was also easy to use. When phoning i got through straight away and the directions they sent me via email were pretty good too (we did get lost however that was more down to my own stupidity rather than their directions!). As soon as id paid for the holiday i received my invoice via email and all holiday info that i needed within 48 hours as promised. It told me everything i needed to know about our holiday/accommodation and site.
It is quite a late book-in time with Hoseasons - 16:00pm with most sites i noticed which to me is quite late meaning you can lose nearly a day of your holiday and check out time is 10:00am. You are asked to leave a £40.00 deposit on arrival for any breakages that may occur once you stay.
Hoseasons do offer a wide range of holidays in differing accommodations. For example you have a boating holiday, log cabins in secluded areas, park holidays, city breaks, country cottage breaks and villas abroad.
I would definitely visit a Hoseasons again and found it far cleaner and more modern than that of other parks i have stayed in however i would probably look for a late deal again as i do not believe that where we stayed warranted nearly £700.00 for 4 days especially with the few problems we found on arrival at the park.
Summary: Would def visit again though for price we paid
