Disadvantages: OLD CHALETS IN NEED OR REFURB OR DEMOLITION

we have just returned from a 4 night midweek break in ilfracombe north devon. the site was at the top of a very steep hill that led to the town centre and harbour area, there is a bus service but is infrequent. whilst we found both the main and the communial areas to a high standard, the chalet where we stayed (126) was very poor in comparison. we had a hot water failure 3 days out of 4. the electric was constantly tripping, it felt and smelt damp, and the one and only heater was inadequate, we didnt feel we could sleep in the bedroom due to the permanent condensation, so we had to make the sofa bed up every night. glad we didnt pay the full price as we would have felt even more cheated. the chalet is not suitable for children or the elderly. the positves are, the staff were very professional and helpful.
