Advantages: Children well entertained

Disadvantages: Steep Sloping Campsite

Just had a ten night camping holiday at Widemouth Bay with my seven year old daughter. Although I booked and payed in advance, I would cheerfully have gone elsewhere after seeing the site. There is not a flat surface anywhere to pitch your tent, the site being on the side of a valley. It was only my daughter's plea's that made me stay and set up camp, I have never slept at 30 degrees before and hope I never will again!! She had a brilliant time, going to the Foxy club, swimming in the heated pool ( restricted opening hours ), dancing at the club in the evenings. The bar and snack bar are quite expensive, because you are a captive audience, the entertainment is amateurish and repetitive, parents be prepared! The reality was a half mile walk down a steep hill to the clubhouse, even worse on the way back. The on-site shop, although small, was quite well stocked with basics and also some camping spares.

Summary: Check out other local sites

The other camps aren't much better.
