John Fowler Holiday Parks: The place to be, but maybe not in the height summer!! (154 words)

Just returned from a caravan holiday in Brixham, the caravan, although a bronze grade was suprisingly clean and spacious although u are surrounded with other upgraded caravans (silver and gold) that look very comfortable, would be tempted to upgrade in the summer time just to get a balcony. The bedrooms where a little cramped and the mattresses ...  Read the complete review

John Fowler - St Ives

Booked and paid for a 4 day stay at St Ives. Chalet was Mouldy, Damp and Smelled awful, Spider webs everywhere and kitchen blind had black mould all over it - it made us feel sick. We could not sit on the the old settee - it was wet and smelled.
We arrived late so had to stay first night. Bed was awful- collapsed one side, bed linen was damp , we had paid extra for this to be supplied.
Booked into local hotel next day. We we arrived at new hotel, we told them of our experiences and without naming where we had stayed they said we bet it was John Fowler - lots of their customers had experienced problems with John Fowler.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - YOU WILL REGRET IT !!!.

we stayed at the Ilfracombe park in sept 2009 and had a great time. The chalet was basic-but that was all we paid for-so there was nothing to moan about as it was clean and tidy. I thought the facilities were ok, although we didn't use all of them most of the time. The entertainment was rubbish on most nights, but the staff did try their best and ...  Read the complete review

In summer 2008 my wife & I stayed in a "Gold" level caravan at the Brixham John Fowler Holiday Park last year with our grandchildren. We were very pleased both with the accomodation and the park. Just driven for 5 hours to get home having spent 27 hours on the ilfracombe holiday park. We were booked in for the week but endured one night. The "chalet" left me speechless, in fact I tied plastic bags to the ends of all the pullcords of the lights. I imagine once they were white cords, even single one(especially the bathroom which ...  Read the complete review

What can I say about JFH I think this should be spelt HELL. We stayed at the Tolroy Manor site in Hayle Cornwall, Well Hayle was a horrible town sorry residence of Hayle it was a 10 minute drive to the beach where there was little parking. We saw the pictures of the Crofters Chalet and although we did not pay a lot of money for our short break ...  Read the complete review

We've just returned from a short break at John Fowler Holiday Park at Perran View, I was really apprehensive after reading a lot of negative reviews and was pleasantly surprised. The "villa" was spacious, clean and didn't smell. Yes it could have done with some money spending on it to refurbish the furniture a little but all in all was ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on John Fowler Holiday Parks

My 9 year old daughter & I stayed at the Ilfracombe holiday park in the blackberry studio apt. The apt was very small and basic but fine if you are mostly planning just to sleep there & eat out (kitchen was very basic & seemed a bit of an afterthought). The entertainment was very cheesy but the kids really enjoyed themselves. The bar and shop were very expensive and parking could be difficult especially if your apt is not close to the car parks. We got a good deal on the accomodation but it is not worth the full cost. Generally ok for a short break - we went for 7 days and left after 6 as the weather was awful. Would recommend for a long weekend where you only need somewhere to sleep!!!

Widemouth Bay Me and my family spent the last 2 weeks of August at the John Fowler Site at Widemouth bay and I would NEVER go back there. We spent the end of August in a tourer at Widemouth Bay so review is mainly relevant for tourers and campers. Pros: The location of the site is great as you are very close to Widemouth Bay beach and Bude. If you're an active person who likes cycling, walking or surfing there is plenty for you around here. Our pitch had nice views ...  Read the complete review

How this company has managed to stay in business is totally beyond me. We stayed in one of their "Gold" level shacks, in St Ives. The shack was exactly that, a shack, with double glazing. The hut\shack was, damp and smelt like a church crypt. The carpet looked like it had been used in a scene from CSI, the furniture and beds where damp ...  Read the complete review

We stayed there last week in August at the Golden Sands Iffracombe in a chalet overlooking a field, supposed to be with a view all we could see was hedges nothing else, the chalet was unfit for living in, it was dirty, you didn't feel clean, no shower, carpets manky, beds manky, settees manky you felt dirty all the time, full of spiders webs and spiders, only one toilet roll between six of us, it cost us £565 for the week, I would never go back to John Fowlers Holiday Park, anybody booking with them don't bother, it was the worst holiday I have ever had.

There was not enough entertainment for children through the day the kids got bored in the afternoon, we had to go into Ifracombe which meant we had to get the bus everyday, the weather was awful and it was cold damp and wet.

John Fowler - We stayed in the little holiday park in Combe Martin, lovely gardens and wonderful view. It looked promising and much nicer than the caravan parks. However, the cornflower chalet was horrible, damp, smelly, dated, tasteless, car boot sale decoration, disgusting carpets, bad lighting, not a single reading lamp in sight. Generally speaking crappy and shabby. And the shower was an insult. The bar looks equally dated and dark. And there is no laundry service at all. I hope someone takes over the thing and makes something nice out of it. It was not cheap at all and no value for money either. And the free linen is also horrible. I'd rather camp any time!
