Ko Chang is a much quiter island than the more famous ones you here about. This makes it a blissful and friendly place compared to the 'party islands'. The best places to stay are along the beachside and are generally huts with a net over the bed and an outside toilet/shower. Its located to the south west of Bangkok and almost in Cambodia. You get a really nice bus from near Khao San Road and takes 5-6 hours. You then board a ferry which is only about a 20 min trip.
