For anyone thinking of visiting this area I would recommend doing this as it saves you a lot of baht on accommodation and you can still visit the islands. Whilst we were there we took a speed boat from Krabi around a tour of the islands - this was a great experience and a lot of fun. Each island we visited was like a little piece of paradise. Premium Review Krabi (Thailand): Krabi town - Thailand (367 words)

Krabi is a little town in Southern Thailand. In my opinion Krabi town itself does not have much to offer except cheap accommodation, but Krabi is surrounded by beautiful tropical islands which are easily accessible from Krabi. We stayed in Krabi town itself whilst in Thailand instead of staying on the islands themselves as the accommodation on the islands can be pricey by Thai standards and we found great accommodation options at reasonable prices in Krabi. For anyone thinking of visiting this area I would recommend doing this as it saves you a lot of baht on accommodation and you can still visit the islands. Premium Review Useful Backpacker "Mini-Hub" (326 words)

Joint tickets are available from many travel agents in Bangkok with the train and bus ticket included. By far the ...  Read the complete review

I don't know why I'm telling everyone about this idyllic location because it's presently the 8th wonder of the world and could be spoilt. However, Krabi, or more specifically, Rai Lay Beach is what dreams are made of! This is a place which can only be reached by longtail boat from Krabi Town or if arriving from Phi Phi via boat from Ao Nang. The accomodation can either be at top end (Dusit Rayavadee Resort), Mid-range (Langka Deng - but no walk-ins) or budget end (various bungalow options). All are within 5 mins. from the beach as you can walk from one side of the island to the other, at this point, in about 10 mins.. There are various bars and restaurants ...  Read the complete review
