KrkNewest Review: ... although fishing boats are available. My favourite part of my recent trip to Krk was a short ferry trip to the neighbouring, even smaller, island of Cres. The ferry trip lasts about twenty minutes, and I was fortunate enough to see dolphins jumping in the water less than a hundred meters from the ferry! The only downside to Krk from my point of view is that the shops were a little expensive. This may have been as I was shopping in tourist areas, but I also think the fact that so much has to be transported onto the island pushes prices up a little as well. Krk is a small island in the northern Adriatic. It is part of Croatia, and is easilly accessed either by road from the Croatian mainland, or via air, with the island having its own airport. If you do as I did and travel to Krk by road, your first treat will be the spectacular bridge you cross over to enter the island, with some very interesting views. There is a range of accomodation on Krk, including several campsites, villas, and hotels. There is something for all tastes and budgets.
