An OK destination, but I wouldn't return! (Lloret De Mar (Spain))

Advantages: Plenty to do, shops, bars, easy access to buses

Disadvantages: The beach!

I went to lloret de mar with a group of my friends, there were 6 of us altogether aged, 21/22, 3 boys and 3 girls. We had wanted to go somewhere cheap and not too far away. (One of the girls doesnt like flying!). We found an all inclusive hotel for £400 for 1 week on the 13th June.

There are plenty of shops in the town centre that will keep you busy, and bartering is also welcome there! The people were friendly and keen to help. There are many local buses there to take you to places. We took a free bus from our hotel to Marineland, which is a waterpark and zoo where we all had a great day out. My friends also took a bus to Barcelona which took them about 1hr/1.30mins. There is plenty to do there and to keep you busy, we also had a walk upto sea fortress, which had great views, although you did have to pay to get in when you got there, a couple of euros.

Being a group of young people, one reason we chose there was because of the nightlife. There are plenty of bars and nightclubs to go to, and if you barter to get in some of these places you can get some great deals! One place we liked the most was rockafellas which had good music and good drink deals! If you dont like being hassled on a night out by people trying get you in to their bars, then this may not be the holiday for you. To be honest this did slightly put us off the main strip of bars as it was very hectic, but once you get used to it, then its ok!

I dont think I would return to lloret de mar again, and the main reason for this is the beach! I am a beach lover and love to go the beach, in the sae and play bat n ball and football there, however it is not a sandy beach but more like gravel! And you werent allowed to play any ball games there. It was hard to walk on this beach without your feet hurting. We only went to the beach once, and on this occasion the sea was very rough and would not have been suitable for small children.

Overall it is an ok holiday destination depending what you want out of your holiday! There is plenty to do there and plenty of shops and bars.

Summary: Depending what you want out of your holiday it could be your perfect holiday destination!
