i would just like to say that magaluf is amazing, went for 2 weeks, didnt see one person fighting there, good holiday destination for teenagers or people up for a serious party! better than ibizia which is full of old creepy men trying it on with young people.. disgusting! i also went to Malia where i witnessed people taking drugs in toilets and buying drugs on street corners, i also went to zante where i personally think it was a town where my gran would go!
Magaluf and Palma Nova are situated very close to each other on the Island of Majorca, and it was Palma Nova that we stayed in. There was little happening in Palma Nova so a walk along the round to Magaluf was what we did most days.
First of all there's a lovely beach with sand that is cleaned daily and obviously brought in from elsewhere by the lorry load. The palm trees on the long beach make it beautiful to look at.
We wandered in and out of various cafes, bars and shops in Magaluf and found the usual MacDonalds, etc. It was nothing special. A bit like Blackpool in the sun really.
We happened to mentioned that we had enjoyed our day in Magaluf to some younger guests who were staying in the same hotel as us. They warned us that it was not a place that we would enjoy at night time one the lager louts, night hawks, drunks and drug takers poured out onto the streets. We really didn't think it could be that bad and bought tickets to a gig at one of the bars.
It was not until we started to walk back afterwards that we realised just what they had meant. There were drunks, fights, gangs of youths running up and and down the street, vomit all over the place. To be honest it was disgusting.
Okay, there are areas of most big towns and cities that get like this at the weekend but this was all concentrated into a very small area. The streets are narrow, it's hilly and you can't avoid the trouble spots.
Most hotels that we saw were surrounded by gangs of young people, drinking, swearing and shouting. Clearly they had just got up to enjoy the nightlife. It would have suited me many years ago, but not now.
So, I would say that if you are young and looking for a boozing, clubbing type holiday, Magaluf would probably suit you. Otherwise it is fine in the day time but don't venture there at night. We really felt unsafe.
Magaluf seems to be busy during the winter and summer, although we were told that at the height of the season it is a place for younger people who just want to go wild. I'm not saying that only this type of person goes to Magaluff but it doesn't take many to spoil it in such a small place.
Ok, you might be younger than me and think Magaluf is a fabulous place but I don't go on holiday to have to avoid flying bottles, vomit and fights when I go out in the evening. Certainly not for me. I was just pleased that we were staying in much quieter Palma Nova.
Ive visited Magaluf three times and loved it every time! Its completely cheesy and commercialised but I love it! The beach is very well looked after and offers sunbeds and watersports throughout the day. There are many restaurants and takeaways to choose from including the normal McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut etc. Its all located very closely together. There are a massive choice of bars and clubs and would defo recommend a visit to BCM. BCM is the largest club in maga and is worth the money. It costs around 22 euros to get in, this includes freebies (t-shirts, bags, hats, glow sticks) which depends on the day and the best bit is the free bar! You can only have 1 drink at a time but we never had to wait around to get a drink as they have lots of bars located around. They also gave us free champagne tickets on some nights which gave us cheap sparkling wine (great to get you drunk) which also added to the experience! They also do a lot of themed nights such as water partys, foam partys, popcorn partys etc which are amazing especially the water and foam!
There are also many shops and attractions located around. There are loads of locals offering excursions, the water parks are very good and would also recommend you to visit the Pirates Uncut Show (Pirate acrobat type show), its a great night! You get food and alcohol jugs whilst there and it is such a good atmosphere as they get everyone joining in.
I loved magaluf and would recommend any of the fiesta hotels or the magaluf playa apartment. All in a good location.
Def Recommend for 18's-30's!
Magaluf is the known place for the younger travellers. It is full of bars at every corner on every strip, each with a good standard of entertainment every night during the summer season.
Even during the months in which most places are closed, such as January through to April, there are still plenty of bars and clubs which are open, both for youngsters and families. These include the famous Prince William bar and the Eastenders bar. They have good entertainment all throughout the night, including DJs and kareoke.
During the summer there are many groups of people within the area covering the beaches during the day and on the streets and bars at night.
Night clubs such as BCM, being one of the biggest hold regular events such as foam parties, water parties and popcorn parties, as well as leading DJs performing such as DJ Sammy and Tiesto. BCM also has an all-inclusive policy in which all drinks come included in the ticket price.
Within Magaluf during the day, there are also numerous attractions for anyone. There are two major water parks, in which are easy to access via the bus services, as well as an Aquarium.
The beaches are all golden sand and clear water with beautiful views. There are many hotels which have good prices and entertainment within themselves also.
Shopping in Magaluf and Palma Nova can be limited, as there are many small spanish shops followed by many liquor and tobacco shops. All of these however are very cheap making it a very cheap holiday. However if you wish to do more shopping there are regular buses to the capital of Majorca being Palma.
This is a highly reccommended area for anyone looking for sun and fun, especially teenagers within the summer.
I stopped in Magaluf with a mate in June 2008. We stayed in the fantastic Sol Guadalupe hotel (of which you can read my review).
Magaluf itself is a fantastic place if you love to enjoy plenty of nightlife. There are an unbelievable amount of bars, restaurants and clubs. We used to start the night at a bar called Del Boys, in here they continuously show episodes of Only Fools and Horses, great if you are a fan of this classic sitcom! This bar is opposite the main club on the island, BCM. We only went to BCM one night, but it was very good, with Judge Jules live that night. It cost 25 euros to get in, but then all of your drinks were free for the remainder of the night. The drinks were quite good too, with you able to drink most spirits, beer, alcopops and water.
The beach at Magaluf is very nice, with plenty of sun loungers. The sea is absolutely gorgeous.
We also visited Western Park, a brilliant water park very near to the centre of Magaluf. I suggest you get a taxi there though, as it only costs about 4 or 5 euros in total. The water slides are awesome there, and you can watch dolphin and Western shows.
Magaluf is one of the largest resort developments, its situated on the south west coast at the Palma bay end- and is only about 10 miles from the airport!
Magaluf is a perfect resort for the 18 -30 groups, hen parties, stag parties and anyone else wanting to party in general.... Its a very lively resort with many british and irish bars, and may more opening! There is many discos that open late and are usually still open at dawn the next day.... there is always an exciting buzz about magaluf, always bright lights and loud music, people laughing and joking, comedians and singers in loads of bars up and down the strip. Although some people absolutely love Magaluf, I have also heard people refer to it as the 'blackpool with the weather'..... it can be a little tacky, but is great fun anyway! It really isnt to everyones taste, and is probably better groups, older families wanting a laugh and is ideal for those wanting a holiday in the sun with unlimited drinking time and plenty of pubs and bars to offer a completely different bar crawl every single night....
There are many restaurants in resort and it even boasts a mcdonalds, kfc, burger king, wimpey, pizza hut and numerous chippies and kebab takeaways.
A word of warning - because the resort is very lively and bustling - it attracts pickpockets - so keep your hand on your valubles at all times.
Magaluf has a fine sandy beach with warm waters - offering water sports of every kind, glass bottom boat trips and plenty of shops down the coastal strip. Booze cruises are usually on offer too in the main summers months and also organised pub crawls of every kind on offer.
Magaluf is more suited to someone wanting an action packed, fun filled holiday - and definately not for those wanting lazy days by the beach and a quiet drink and meal in the evenings - if this is what you're after, DO NOT go to magaluf - you will be disappointed!
There is an aqua park in magaluf - AQUALAND MAGALUF - with death defying water slides and rides for older kids, and there is also a racing track just outside the park for older children.
For those wanting to scuba dive - there is a divers centre which offer PADI courses and run diving excusions too - there is a free courtesy bus available from resort to the dive centre daily.
A new attraction is Western Park - its a water park and wild west theme park, and is suitable for all the family.
Also on offer is a Pirates Adventure - its dinner and a show with a pirate theme - its on daily - and on friday night is even an adults only uncut show too!
There are loads of other things to do in magaluf and you really wont be bored for a second in this resort. From first thing in the morning to last thing at night, Magaluf is guaranteed to give you an active fun filled holiday.
If I think of anything else, I will be sure to update my review.....
I havnt been on many holidays but Magaluf has been 1 of my best holidays by far.
To me Magaluf is more the party scene, hectic nightlife, pubs and clubs in every direction. There is the odd thing for families to do together like waterparks, The Pirates which is a must see entertainment night (which does family nights and adult nights the difference being on adult nights they swear etc) and many restaurants but I'm sure theres more places out there which have more for families and young children to do.
If a young partygoer, or teen, or even a first girly holiday or boys holiday or even a stag weekend or hen weekend, i would definitely reccomend Magaluf. There is endless hotels of various standards, the hotel I stayed in wasnt the best but it was good enough for my 2week stay. People tend to sleep in the day and not the night. There is some big clubs such as BCM as I'm sure alot of people have heard of, a huge club does various music styles and free drink nights and gives goodies away (t-shirts, glowsticks etc).
The beach is beautiful, but then so are most beaches to us when we live in the UK, there are even hotels along the beach. Fast food restaurants everywhere also, not only spanish ones but our favourites, KFC, Mcdonalds also.
My personal opinion is if you are after a hectic holiday, of partying and young people everywhere then Magaluf is a must!
Just returned from a 6 day chill out break to Magaluf. Stayed at the Sol Magaluf Park Hotel half board which for just over 14 pounds a head per night half board was excellent value. Hotel was clean, loads of hot water and food varied and tasty. Location was central to "The Strip" although many bars and clubs were not open this time of year. Checked out a few bars which were pretty much the big screen TV, beer swilling, pool playing bars which one would expect to find in Magaluf. However I stumbled on a real jewel in the crown, relatively new bar called Rockahunnys which was like a breath of fresh air, slightly more upmarket to the usual run of the mill ones. Cool clean cut lines and modern upmarket decor along with really friendly customer service which is not what you expect to find in your average Karaoke bar in Spain. This is certainly a place I would recommend that anyone visiting Magaluf should check out. This family are a real positive, happy crew and really know how to run a happening venue and they are already making their mark on Magaluf. Located beside "The Office" just off the main strip, and close to BCM I think this bar will always be known as the one who brought Magaluf into the 21st Century. (At Last!!!!)
Magaluf will always be the party resort of Majorca and some bars have not changed since the 80's. But even partygoers expect a little more now than dirty ashtray venues along with cheap drink. Rockahunnys is fresh but still as competitive with their drinks prices as their neighbours but offering a real good welcome and a great atmosphere for your money. I was so chuffed that I finally found a bar in Magaluf that stood out from the crowd ..........Its well worth a visit !!!

stayed at sol guadalupe excellent hotel good size rooms rooms cleaned every day good food friendly staff plenty pubs near hotel beach close by only fault about magaluf is you get hounded by touts with scratch cards the guys always win the wine kids win t shirts woman always get the free holiday the touts are everywhere working for vacaciones wide plus dont be taken in by these people once at there presentation you are told all the things you would like on a holiday dont sign to anything they want a large deposit which has no cooling off period and not many people ever get there deposit back as long as you sgtay clear of any 1 with a scratch card or any offer of a free holiday youll have a good time there
me and 3 of my mates went to magaluf in august 06, we managed to get flights and accomodation for only £300 which was awesome as the acomodation we stayed in was just what we needed, beds, cooker and a toilet!(that toilet saw the most use it had ever had in a week). Got there midday on tues 15th only took 2 hours from getting off the plane to start drinking. Ps this is not advisable to start so early unless you want to be really drunk before eveyone else goes out(we shall be doing this again next year).it is advisable to stock up on booze asap when you get there, for example we bought 36 beers, bottle of tequila, vodka, peach schapps.Top Tip: shop around as some places are cheaper than others don't pay more than 5 for 12 beers.
Mornings: do not exist unless you do not go to bed till 9 as you have gone brokebacking (naked) swimming, then you have seen some of the morning. Otherwise you will sleep till after 12. Top Tip:fish will eat any turd you leave in the see and they will not leave you alone afterwards, always leave valuables under a sunlounger when naked.
Afternoons: spent recovering from the massive hangover you woke up with due to drinking yourself to the ground(falling over). Usually spent on the beach, Top Tip: don't go to the beach till after 5 at least as it is still hot and not quite so busy, furthermore the ladies normally stay out longer!!, grab some food at the Boat Yard then head back through town to pick up beers and spirits for the night ahead. Top Tip: don't plan on going out early like in england as no one is about, stay on balcony, smoke and drink untill about midnight earliest.
Fagging Up: an essential part of going out in magaluf and refers to the amount of hair products you put into yuor hair after a shower (our record is 4) this is essential for pulling fat hideous girls after 12 pints. Top tip: create something known to us as a points system, after every night award points to guys for pulling; good looking girls, nationalities, and getting action of which there is a lot to be had!
Nightime: when you feel suficiently tipsy on your balcony and have fagged up you should proceed to the strip where all the bars and clubs are. We recommend taking a trip into Oasis (aka Triggers) because 4 cocktails are 20 (this is a good price) Top Tip: don't get roped into going into bars from reps most of them are not cool just say no and keep walking or think of who can make up the funniest excuse as this will put them off(eg no thanks i have a small penis)Take full advantage of the mcp pass which allows you access to 5 clubs Top Tip: visit bananas foam party. Visit Murphys for awesome drinks promtions i.e buy one get one free drinks, 4 free shots and 2 free pitchers of vodka red bull or cocktail for 20.Bargain!!!. Top Tip:bargain with the reps , see how much free drink you can get to come into their bar if they don't budge walk off and they will come running. When you have had a skinful go to heaven you will find out what that is and come out nursing a semi!!! BCM: awesome, we saw dj sammy perform heaven live and free bar after 22 entry, we recommend a theme night, ours was ridiculous hawaiian clothing which went down a storm with the ladies and reps, we got 4 bottles of champagne free for looking stupid/hot.
To conclude, get gashed!!!
Thank you for readin this review, see you next year, we're off to the pub!
magaluf!! what can i say? plenty lol!
i've been to magaluf the past 2 years and have loved every single minute of it. going back this year so it's obvious that i find it top class!
the first year i was there i stayed in the hawaii torrenova apartments which are situated near the top end of the strip near mulligans. the hawaii torrenova is a lovely hotel, with 2 good sized, clean pools. the maids come in regularly and they keep the place spotless. the room we were in was a great size and has a huge balcony which looked towards the ocean. young people might not appreciate the view but older people would! the food from the poolside bar was fantastic as was the service.
although i have nothing but good things to say about the hotel, it is a family one so why they put young people in it aswell is beyond me!
the second year i stayed in the fiesta magamar apartments which are sister apartments to the fiesta jungla, fiesta sahara and fiesta tropico. you may have heard about the magamar apartments as they are absolutely wild! full to the brim with young people i do advise families to keep as far away from booking here as they can! more to the point though, the fiesta magamar in my opinion is a fantastic place to stay. full of young people, the atmosphere is always buzzing. the rooms are a fair size and rather basic but the maids do come in frequently.
the food prepared downstairs in the resturaunt was great aswell, but then again drunk/hungover teenagers cant really tell the difference!
the pool was rather small and the only downside to the hotel. we didnt go there much anyway as we often went to the beach which was only a 5 minute walk away. whenever we did go down to the pool, to be fair, the atmosphere made up for the size of the pool!
the magamar is only a short walk until you're bang in the middle of the wild nightlife!
the nightlife in magaluf is absolutely out of this world in my opinion. i couldnt imagine going to magaluf being older as i only ever seen young lively people out and about when i was there. there is loads of different bars to go to that cater to all different music tastes. my favourite bars were funky munkys, bar 29, mulligans, bcm first floor, murphys and revolution! there are so many to choose from though so i'd recommend going to them all!
the drink is cheap as chips, and mostly has deals on like 2 drinks for 4 or 5 euros. they pour very strong measures which is all the better! a lot of clubs do big fish bowls and try and bribe you with them to get you in. my advice is go in and get it because i loved the fish bowls and they get u druuuunk haha!
and who can mention magaluf nightlife without mentioning the clubs. they're all worth paying a visit to, i think, because they all have different themed nights on every night and lay an array of music! the popcorn party and water party in boomerangs is not to be missed!! BCM is the top club in magaluf, if you're visiting magaluf and dont pay BCM a visit then shame on you haha! its around 18 - 24 euros depending on whos djing or what time of year you go. you get loads of free freebies every night and free drink all night. i recommend the coke and amaretto! tastes just like dr pepper lol! there are 2 floors, the top floor is where the top dj's perform and its mostly dance and trance music that gets played, and the bottom floor is where the popcorn, water and foam parties take place and play loads of different kinds of music. dj gotti performs there some nights and gets everyone dancing to his song "bang on the drum" its superb!
after partying the night away theres a mcdonalds, kfc and loads of takeaway places on the strip for pizza and hot dogs for you to fulfill ur early morning munchies! kfcs always jam packed but essential for some random drunken magaluf banter!
there are 2 water parks in magaluf, aqualand and the western water parks. although the 2 are both good i recommend aqualand...the slides are higher!!
a show not to be missed in magaluf is pirates! there are 2 versions, the x rated uncut which me and my friends went to or the family version. pirates is an acrobatics show which serves u free food and free sangria, which by the way gets you very drunk haha! the show itself has to be seen to be believed. its absolutely amazing!!
the magaluf beach is also fantastic. situated near the shops and pubs on the strip, it is kept very clean and you can hire out pedalos, water skis, banana boats etc to beat your boredom!
basically magaluf can be a great place for the full family to go as there is lots of activities and things to do, but from my experience as a young, lively girl going for a good drunken time....its the best in my opinion. i dont have one bad word to say about it. the atmosphere is amazing, the weathers amazing, the places to eat and drink are amazing and the people i met are amazing!
people all do have different tastes and opinions though but i reckon a holiday is definetely what you make it!
p.s a tip i'd give is depending on what kind of holiday ur looking for is read up on the hotels and reviews for them before booking. boring people/ families wouldnt want to be stuck in the magamar and lively people dont want put in a family hotel so its worth having a look!
going to the fiesta sahara this year for 2 weeks in june so i'll be sure to write up a review of that when i'm back !
thanks for reading and hope my review was helpful! :)
I went to Magaluf 3 years ago when I was still a young lad and had the best holiday I ever had!
If you're around the ages of 18-25 and want to go on holiday somewhere hot with lots of beer and lots of pulling potential, this is the place to go.
There is plenty to do and something for everyone. The beaches are clean with watersports activities available but if you're not keen on the sand, there is an excellent water park nearby.
The nightlife is second to none and there are pubs and clubs to suit all tastes such as Car wash (oldies), Boomerangs (house) and BCM (dance). There is also a relaxed atmosphere that I haven't experienced on other holiday resorts of this kind in that I didn't witness any trouble or fighting. Everyone was there simply to have a good time! Also although this kind of resort is aimed at the young, free and single audience, there are attractions to suit people with families and they should not be put off by lots of young people going there.
One thing I would strongly recommend against is going with Club 18-30 as they will fleece you out of every penny you have. Their activities are overpriced and very poorly planned, with hardly any thought going into them. I also had a problem with my hotel room and they were not very forthcoming when I asked my rep for some help. In the end me and my friends organised our own nights out and had a much better time! Another word of warning, If you are like me and don't like to be in the heat too long, it may be best to just go for a week or make sure your hotel room has air conditioning! Teperatures can get into the 40s!
One thing I would especially recommend is the world's biggest foam machine at BCM nightclub - It's an amazing experience!
*Please Note - this is based on my experience, as an 18 year-old student, so those with family looking for a summer holiday may not find this to be the most useful review for them*
During mid-July this year, myself along with five other mates jetted off to Magaluf on the Spanish island of Majorca for some sun, sea and sand before we all went our seperate ways to university. Looking for a wild and entertaining week, we opted for Magaluf on it's reputation for satisfying the "18-30" generation. We booked through First Choice and their group "2wentys" - specifically designed for young people going on holiday to destinations such as Magaluf, Ibiza, Corfu etc. We stayed at the Gabarda hotel, a basic two star appartment with a beach only 500 metres away, in Palma Nova, a small town literally ten minutes walk along the beach front to Magaluf - to help us lower the price of our visit, due to us being students of course!! The price we paid was around £300, but that's just an estimation as I didn't book it myself, just simply kept giving my friend instalments of money!
We arrived around midnight at the airport in Palma, the capital of Majorca, having departed from Gatwick two hours earlier. A good five minute walk greeted us from the plane to the luggage collection, along with a hefty wait for our luggage to arrive, so be weary of that - it's not simply a case of picking up your bags and shooting off into town for some late night/ early morning entertainment! We then took a coach to Palma Nova, that roughly took twenty minutes. After checking in, finding our rooms and being given a talk from our 2wentys reps with regards to what would be happening during the week - trying to sell us anything and everything that was going, and safety aspects such as fire evacuations, it was pushing four in the morning...probably too late for even the most insistent party-goer!
Facilities in the hotel included a swimming pool, sun terrace and sunbeds, snack bar, 24 hour bar serving alcoholic and soft drinks, English speaking reception, safety deposit box facility - which a small fee is required to use, satellite TV, pool tables and Internet access. My friends and I tended to go to the beach rather than use the hotel's alternatives, but an alarming amount of people chose to stay there all day, every day - something I wouldn't entirely recommend - there's a whole new country out there!!
Of course, the first half of our day was made up of sleeping for the majority of the time, but when we did awake, which wasn't TOO late due to the warmth, and the annoying hum of the ceiling fan, our first choice was often to head down to the beach. However, we weren't too repetitive - on a couple of days we made our way into Magaluf using the competitively priced taxi service, to go to places such as "Western Water Park" and "Karting Magaluf" - one being an incredible water park suitable for all the family, and with some nerve-jangling rides, such as "The Beast", which was literally just a sheer drop - not for those of a nervous disposition. The go-karting place, which was merely down the road from the water park, was a little expensive, but good fun on some fairly nippy karts - according to my lap sheet I clocked a top speed of 65km/h - and those were on the 2nd fastest type of kart available. Other daytime activities include your traditional seaside resort entertainments such as crazy golf or banana boat rides. There's also plenty of market stalls and off licences for people to walk around and take a look in - although many are similar and after a while, you think you've seen them all!
One night out that I must recommend before going on about the clubs and pubs is "Pirates" - there are two shows, one suitable for all the family, and one dubbed as the 'uncut' version. It basically blends world class acrobatics, thrilling gymnastics and breathtaking dancing to produce an excellent show to watch and take part in. Food and drink is also included during the show (when I say drink, it was only sangria for us - which we decided was simply the worst drink ever invented!!!) As for a price, I'm not entirely sure as we signed up to it during the talk with our reps on the first night, along with a number of other things such as entry into the Water Park, but www.piratesadventure.com is their offical website - it will give details on prices and more there!!
So what about the nightlife?? Well Palma Nova has a few bars, but no real nightclubs, but some of the late-night bars have English Dj's playing, however, we never spent a night there, instead, as should be the case, we went into Magaluf for the pubs and clubs....
Firstly I should point out that all but a few of the bars and clubs are situated on "The Strip" - one single road based on a hill in magaluf. The story goes that people should try and start at the bottom and work their way up to the top - if they did that, they could very well die of alcohol poisoning by the end of it!!! On a couple of the nights, we went on organised outings with our tour group - although the term 'pub crawl' is apparently outlawed in Magaluf, so they just named the days we went out, such as 'Naughty Sunday' for example.
The very first bar we went to was "Murphy's" - as the title suggests, an Irish pub, with some great tunes with outside seating too - considering when we popped in, it was heaving, so fresh air was ideal!! Secondly we went to "Mulligans", which was literally opposite the first place, so walking far was not an issue that night!! Situated at the top of the strip, with two floors, on the night we went the place was jam-packed, with stuff like drinking games taking place - when we popped in later in the week, the place was almost deserted however!! I could, or perhaps should, write about some more bars here, but the majority are like these two - playing popular dance music, the odd drinking game, and in many places, offers on certain drinks are available.
So, once you've lost all control of your legs via alcohol, it's time to go and dance yourself stupid at a club...
One way to take advantage of the places is to buy an "MCP" - Magaluf Club Pass - which enables you to go to any of five clubs in one night - Bananas, Boomerang, Carwash, Tokyo Joes and Fusion - of which, I went to the first three in that list, never quite making it to the final two!! One (drunk) highlight included on the first night at Carwash watching "The One & Only" Chesney Hawkes - yes, I'm sure you all remember that song!! - proper entertainment!!
But once you've done the MCP for a few nights, that's not all....there's then BCM...a massive night club that defines the nightlife of Magaluf - apparently it's "Europe's biggest leisure company", but regardless of that, it is quite simply a massive place. With a huge outside square full of seating and bars you don't even have to go inside and dance if you don't want to. Their plan is so forth - you pay a set price (24 Euros when we went - roughly £16) - which gives you entry to BCM Planet Dance, a set of freebies, and free drink for the rest of the night from Planet Dance or BCM Beach Bar - a bar near the bottom of the strip. Of course, it is meant to be one drink at a time, but when there's five or six of you, you can spread yourself across the bar, being served by different bar staff - and hey presto - quick, cheap drinks! Just for those who are curious - 'units' or 'measures' of alcohol seem obsolete over there, with staff just throwing in spirits at will - can't be bad!!
Away from the pubs and clubs, there's your manditory McDonald's and KFC to satify your hunger, but also there are plenty of local restaurants serving not only cheap, local dishes such as paella (which I must admit, I can't stand!), but your traditional English grub at good prices, such as a cooked breakfast, due to the vast number of us tourists that go there every year. One small restaurant we went to was delicious, which was right in the centre of Magaluf, unfortunately a similar one along the beach front in Palma Nova, was, to be honest, lousy.
Up the road from our hotel was a Lidl's supermarket, where we brought huge bottles of water from - as it's certainly not recommended to drink straight from the tap there - at complete bargain prices, along with anything else that we had a hankering for.
So, for those around my age, as I originally pointed out - this is the perfect "18-30" destination in my opinion - complete with an incredible nightlife, but don't take it as such as fickle place - there's a vast number of things to do during the daytime for all the family, so by all means bear that in mind when you decide to book your next holiday - this destination is open to all, and then some!
Magalluf is a great place for meeting all kinds of British and European people. It is also know as Shagalluf as sex like all other European resorts but as shagalluf rhymes with magalluf, it is often reffered to as this.
Magalluf has one massive strip full of clubs and bars waiting to get their customers drunk. Just north west of the strip there is BCM nightclub. This is the main nightclub in Magalluf and it attracts the most famous DJ's in the UK, USA and Europe. There are many foam and popcorn parties downstairs in BCM.
The accomodation can be quite cheap, we stayed in the Don Manolo all inclusive for just £230. The food and drink was great and plenty of it.
We have a website if you want to read more about our experinces which is shagalluf-magalluf.co.uk.
