Advantages: Lively, active, plenty to do - perfect for groups and those wanting pub crawls and lots of drink
Disadvantages: not ideal for those wanting a quiet resort - definately not a typical majorcan town
Magaluf is one of the largest resort developments, its situated on the south west coast at the Palma bay end- and is only about 10 miles from the airport!
Magaluf is a perfect resort for the 18 -30 groups, hen parties, stag parties and anyone else wanting to party in general.... Its a very lively resort with many british and irish bars, and may more opening! There is many discos that open late and are usually still open at dawn the next day.... there is always an exciting buzz about magaluf, always bright lights and loud music, people laughing and joking, comedians and singers in loads of bars up and down the strip. Although some people absolutely love Magaluf, I have also heard people refer to it as the 'blackpool with the weather'..... it can be a little tacky, but is great fun anyway! It really isnt to everyones taste, and is probably better groups, older families wanting a laugh and is ideal for those wanting a holiday in the sun with unlimited drinking time and plenty of pubs and bars to offer a completely different bar crawl every single night....
There are many restaurants in resort and it even boasts a mcdonalds, kfc, burger king, wimpey, pizza hut and numerous chippies and kebab takeaways.
A word of warning - because the resort is very lively and bustling - it attracts pickpockets - so keep your hand on your valubles at all times.
Magaluf has a fine sandy beach with warm waters - offering water sports of every kind, glass bottom boat trips and plenty of shops down the coastal strip. Booze cruises are usually on offer too in the main summers months and also organised pub crawls of every kind on offer.
Magaluf is more suited to someone wanting an action packed, fun filled holiday - and definately not for those wanting lazy days by the beach and a quiet drink and meal in the evenings - if this is what you're after, DO NOT go to magaluf - you will be disappointed!
There is an aqua park in magaluf - AQUALAND MAGALUF - with death defying water slides and rides for older kids, and there is also a racing track just outside the park for older children.
For those wanting to scuba dive - there is a divers centre which offer PADI courses and run diving excusions too - there is a free courtesy bus available from resort to the dive centre daily.
A new attraction is Western Park - its a water park and wild west theme park, and is suitable for all the family.
Also on offer is a Pirates Adventure - its dinner and a show with a pirate theme - its on daily - and on friday night is even an adults only uncut show too!
There are loads of other things to do in magaluf and you really wont be bored for a second in this resort. From first thing in the morning to last thing at night, Magaluf is guaranteed to give you an active fun filled holiday.
If I think of anything else, I will be sure to update my review.....
Summary: VERY lively - but great fun!
