Milan is the moral and possibly the clothing capital of Italy, and it has the aspects and the characteristics of a modern metropolis: the skyscrapers, buildings made of crystal and metal and the very large designer clothing stores. Nevertheless with all this, some would say that it lacks the artistic arcitecture of some other large cities in Europe, but not me. Even though it is not strictly a histroic city, the churches, palaces and the art galleries are distributed in a modern, and urban weaving in their greater part, showing that there is a little historical culture in Milan.

Since the Roman period, the development of Milan has been vast, and the build up of the city area is spectular. I have been three times, and even time I have visited, there are new buildings to be seen, suggesting the neverending development of Milan. It amazing.

In the early 5th century, this city along with Rome was the central of one of the worlds largest ever empire, and has held a place on the worlds map ever since.

It is a worthy city to see, and one of my personal favourites for weekend breaks.
