Advantages: Relaxing, well connected, nice scener
Disadvantages: Not much to do
Naleczow is one of Poland's prime spa destinations - 25km or so north of Lublin and 23km east of Kazimierz Dolny, it is in the heart of the Lubelskie region in a rather mellow and quiet valley
The focus of Naleczow is undoubtedly the 50 acre spa park which contains grass, trees and flowers with a large pond in the centre with a fountain and various cute little bridges crossing them. Here you can find a little cafeteria selling chocolate coated prunes and the supposedly top quality mineral water (and thus rather expensive...at least for water) Naleczowianka.
The majestic looking Malachowski's palace looks out over the water like a calm security guard! Another option is to go to Atrium - a leisure centre with a swimming pool with a selection of bubble bath, showers and moats as well as saunas and mud pools.
Naleczow is now quite affordable to a lot of people but was initially just a relaxing retreat for writers, artists and the wealthy of the 19th and 20th centuries. There is a pleasant street with old large villas, often made out of wood which is a nice place to walk.
The train station is about 4km out of the village but trains pass to Warsaw (33zl) , Pulawy (4zl) and Lublin (4zl). Buses and mini buses leave from the very centre of the village where there are also numerous shops like supermarkets, butchers shops, alcohol shops, a few cafes, pubs, a bank machine and a pizzeria. The buses regularly go to Lublin, Kazimierz Dolny and Pulawy.
Some people spend days or weeks there, making use of the santioriums and health facilities - it may well be good place to base yourself if you dont like the hustle and bustle of Lublin. It is well connected to close interesting places (Kazimierz Dolny, Lublin, Pulawy and even Chelm and Zamosc), it is a place to relax so apart from frolicking in the water, there is actually very little to do.
Summary: Worth a visit
