Jazz music filters out of the bars, crawfish crawl over each other in a tub outside a restaurant and the locals are dancing in the street. This can only be one place - New Orleans! New Orleans is considered by many to be the heart of Louisiana, the capital of culture for this joyful state where everyone is welcomed. My ... Read the complete review

OK, it's half French, it has some history and its in the deep South. N'Orlins is a kicking place! When you are down in Loosana, you have to go and experience New Orleans. It has everything you would imagine that it should - it has the steamboats, the impressive bridge on the ... Read the complete review

Crawfish, crawfish, …………..Elvis singing from an elevated balcony over Bourbon Street. For those who have seen King Creole, the vision of New Orleans was emblazoned in my mind from the haunting music and deep southern accents portrayed in this movie. The reality was a bit different. Here are ... Read the complete review

'Oh god, what have I done?', I lifted my mascara streaked head from the pillow to gaze upon a floor strewn with clothes, plastic beads and drinks cups. The party city had struck. I was innocently exploring the cultural diversity of Americas Southern states with a group of like-minded young individuals on a TrekAmerica ... Read the complete review

I recommend anybody who visits New Orleans to go on a swamp tour. Basically New Orleans is built really close to swap land and within 30 minutes of the city you can reach swamp lands where you can see varied and unusual wildlife. Now there are loads of these swamp tours around, the cost varying from $20 to $50, and I suspect ... Read the complete review

How exotic. New Orleans. Everyone says they want to go there. New Orleans is visually stunning, and the sights are all they are cracked up to be. The big problem is the drink and the music. There is too much drinking, and the music is too loud. Bourbon Street, after dark, is as sleazy as you could wish. Seen through middle ... Read the complete review

New Orleans was a big disappointment to me, hardly the uninhabited ravenous steamy charged southern boiling pot its billed as, its more of a seedy commercial tourist trap. Bourbon Street, the center of the cities supposedly main catchment area for the randy tourist is a sea of plastic cups and cheap nylon labeled sportswear. You ... Read the complete review

I traveled across America from New York to LA and would have to say that New Orleans was the biggest disappointment by far. The road along the coast over the assortment of bridges and Bayous is much more fun as is leaving by the absurdly pointless bridge over lake Pontchartrain some 26 miles long when you can drive over the inlet for ... I have just come home from one of the best holidays I have ever had. My partner and I decided to hire a car and see as much as we could of the deep South of America. We flew via Atlanta (as it was a lot cheaper) down to New Orleans and started our journey. What a vibrant and energetic city it truly never stops day or night. We did ... Read the complete review

I have only visited New orleans once and for 2 days only but this is the memory I took away. We stayed in an adequate Radisson Hotel on Canal street, clean, quiet, but busy and very popular with tourists. Bourbon street was a 15minute walk down Canal st, passing through run down areas with plenty of youths hanging ... Read the complete review
