Oasis Holiday Village (Penrith)

Situated just off the A66 near Penrith (M6 - Junction 40), Oasis Holiday Village is set in 400 acres of forest in the Lake District. It is a beautiful, enclosed, safe environment, and the accommodation and facilities are outstanding. Accommodation: Lodges are placed in 'clusters' throughout the forest, and range from a one bed apartment to a four bed luxury timber house with galleried landing, 2/3 bathrooms (some with whirlpool baths), microwave, dishwasher, washer-dryer, satellite telly, log fire, lovely decor and patio with barbecue, as well as all the usual utilities you would expect. My family decided to try the Oasis leisure park after visiting Centreparcs for several previous years.We are a normal family with 3 kids, 2 parents & 2 grandparents. Just to be fair straight away, we went shortly after Oasis opened & were always going to compare it with Centreparcs. The first thing that struck us were Centreparcs accomodation blends into the forest, the log cabins at Oasis were in your face,it looked like a town in the middle of a wood!Inside the cabins was beautiful & roomy.Also on the plus side was the leisure pool which was well laid out & full of little cubby holes with kids sections scattered everywhere. We also went to Oasis in January this year and loved it. It was perfect for us Londoners to get away from the noise and hectic way of life here. We decided to go in January and even though it was cold and damp every day we still thoroughly enjoyed it as the swimming pool is indoors with plenty of things to do and several other indoor activities (bowling, cinema, sports, etc) but we also enjoyed walks through the forest in the beautiful fresh air. If you wrap up warm enough it's perfect.
