Advantages: Cheap and plenty to do

Disadvantages: initial cost for some

Try a holiday at the Oasis holiday Village just off the A66 near Penrith.
I have been several times and have found it a brilliant 'get away from it all' break. The initial cost of around £300 seems high at first but if you take into account that this includes free use of the large swimming pool in the Butterfly Centre I think that it's well worth it, and if you go with friends the cost is obviously shared. I have been to two of the Centre Parcs Holiday Villages and although comparable I think Oasis has the edge. My children are now 7 and 4 respectively and both can swim and are confident in water. This I have to partly contribute to us going to Oasis and Centre Pracs, about 15 times in total.
This type of holiday can be as cheap or as expensive as you wish, after the initial cost of course, and there are lots of activities for children and parents alike. Bear in mind that the accomodation is mostly in chalet type accomodation but there are ample provisions for the less abled, including accomodation near to the Butterfly Center. Internet visitors can sometimes get some good late deals from their website at www.oasishols.co.uk.
