Advantages: beautiful setting

Disadvantages: can be pricey if you want to do all the activities

We also went to Oasis in January this year and loved it. It was perfect for us Londoners to get away from the noise and hectic way of life here.
We decided to go in January and even though it was cold and damp every day we still thoroughly enjoyed it as the swimming pool is indoors with plenty of things to do and several other indoor activities (bowling, cinema, sports, etc) but we also enjoyed walks through the forest in the beautiful fresh air. If you wrap up warm enough it's perfect.
We booked the VIP accommodation and that included a double jacuzzi bath, a fully-equipped kitchen (not that we did any cooking) and a beautiful lakeside location. If you return within a year there is a discount available so we are going back next January, staying in deluxe accommodation for less than we paid this year!
There is only one negative comment I have to make - but it doesn't refer to Oasis directly and I will be leaving an opinion in the general holiday category later today - and that is the high number of school children there. We were from January 22nd to January 26th, which (as far as I can remember) is term time. But it was amazing how many parents had taken their children out of school for a holiday. I realise that it is far more expensive in the school holidays and that not all parents can get time off work during the holidays. My mother worked as a nurse when I was a child and was almost always working weekends and school holidays. I'm not against children but my fiance and I had decided to go to Oasis OUTSIDE of the school holidays to get away from it all because we had both been working over Christmas and New Year and needed a relaxing break. We have chosen not to have children yet as we like to spend time together as a couple and that is why we decided to go in term-time. It was chaotic in the pool at times and one morning we left after 20 minutes because there were so many kids running around.
