You can't get money to you once inside Syria, as credit cards are next to useless, and there are no ties between the Central Bank of Syria, and foreign banks. Travellers' Cheques are a pain to change, although it can be done in banks and on the black market (but be discreet...try asking foreigners living there, who can recommend a good dealer), but cash is better, more specifical... more
