Advantages: Good beaches, great attractions
Disadvantages: may rain
Bournemouth usually known as the area where most people come and retire, this statement couldn’t be more wrong. I have lived in Bournemouth now for the past six years, four of those spent as a student at Bournemouth University, and the other two working in the area. Bournemouth has the best kept beaches in England, stretching from Boscombe to Sandbanks in Poole, approx. 10 miles of golden coast line, they are also blue flag beaches, and are always immaculately kept. If the beach isn’t quite you scene than don’t despair, there is much more to Bournemouth than just its glorious beaches. The pier in Bournemouth provides shows and entertainment in the evenings, usually supported by a celebrity, also there are shows held in the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC), it has just held Riverdance!. The BIC also host live concerts and has a swimming pool, sauna etc. The main gardens in Bournemouth are immaculately kept, with large open space to sit, and relax. A recent addition to the gardens is the Vistarama Balloon, you can go up in the balloon for a fee, but well worth it as you can see over the whole of Bournemouth, fantastic view!. If you are looking for places to eat, you will never be short of a choice. Bournemouth has quite a variety ranging from Italians, Chinese to the local pub lunches, also don’t forget that there are a wide variety of top class hotels that you can also have a meal in. If it’s the night life you are interested in then Bournemouth has lots. Apart from the numerous pubs in the main town centre, it has three night clubs, all at very reasonable price (entrance and drinks). If you would like to visit Bournemouth then there are many hotels and guest houses around. Better deals can be found outside the town centre, they can range from between £80 per night for the top hotels to about £20 a night for guest houses, also you can get special deals if you book
out of season.
