Just a stones throw from this area is West University and Rice Village - a super place to hang out over the weekend, do a little shopping and go to the great bars and restaurants. Further afield, Galveston is worth a day trip, to get down to the sea, and see the Old Strand, as is Kemah, for a pleasant stroll along the boardwalk and lunch at some of the terrific sea food restaurant... more

Although not your traditional tourist destination, if you end up in Houston, Texas on business there's plenty to do to keep you amused.
