Hello Doyoo Members!

I am from Germany, so I want to say sorry, that I am doing a lot of mistakes.

Now, I want to tell you something about my homecountry, namelly Germany. In Germany live about 88 Million people, the capital of Germany is Berlin. In Germany are 14 % of the population unemployemt. And ca. 8 % of the inhabitants are from another nationality. Germany consists of 16 counties:

1. Nordrheinwestfalen
2. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
3. Bayern
4. Rheinland-Pfalz
5. Sachsen
6. Sachsen-Anhalt
7. Schleswig-Holtstein
8. Hessen
9. Hamburg
10. Berlin
11. Brandenburg
12. BadenWürttemberg
13. Niedersachsen
14. Thüringen
15. Saarland

When you want to go on holiday in Germany, you can visit some very interesting cities. A lot of tourists visit Koeln, München or the capital Berlin.

Koeln:
In Koeln live about 1, 008 Million people. In Koeln you can visit different museums, TV Shows and the Koelner Dom. The Koelner Dom was built in 1248 and was ready between 1842 and 1880. So you can see, that it was really a long time, until it was ready. Koeln is very interesting and in Koeln are a lot of stars and a lot of concerts.

München:
München is the landcapital from Bayern. München is the third biggest City in Germany. There live about 1, 256 Million people. Every year you can celebrate the "October - Fest". You can visit a lot of churches and museums. And a lot of talkshows are made in München. Also, you can find a lot of old houes, which you can visit.

Berlin:
Berlin is the capital of Germany. In Berlin live a lot of people, maybe about 3, 474 people. Probably you have heard of it, every year, a lot of young people celebrate there, the "Love Parade". About one million young people come to this festival. There they dance to techno music and they wear funny clothes, sometimes they only wear a BH and a slip. In
Berlin you can visit a lot of theatres and museums. You have got the opportunity to visit the castle "Charlottenburg", the german and france Dom, the "Brandenburger Tor", the "Funkturm" or the "Olympiastation".

Weather:
The weather in Germany is really different. In the summer it can be really warm, but also on the other side, the temperature can only shows us 15 degree. And it can rain. In the winter it can be very cold, last night it was minus 20 degree, but it can also be, that we have over 10 degree. This winter I have not seen a lot of snee. But I have heard, that in Great Britain the weather is nocht very good, that it is often raining.

Drive:
When you are 18 you are allowed to drive a car, but in Germany the driver is sitting on the left side in the car. I know, that in Great Britain you are sitting on the right side. That`s funny.

People:
The outward appereance of the germans is really difference. There live a lot o people, who just want to be reach and are only working. Working very hard. They only wear blck clothes, with a tie. On the other side, there live crazy people. Actually, you can wear whatever you want. To my mind, the germans are arrogant. Often their outward appereance is cold and they do not laugh. But on the other hand in Germany live also funny people. People, who are not arrogant, who want to help another one. I think it is not easy to be hear and to come from another land.

School:
We do not have to wear special school clothes. I can wear whatever I want. Our school starts at quarter to eight and often we can go home at 1 pm. So, in the afternoon, we can do whatever we want. We have the same subjects, I think. Maths, english, german, religious education, art, sport, history, biologie, physics....

Ok, that is all, what I can tell you, about my homecountry. When you want to get more information about me and my life in germany, just ask
me.

Bye with kisses, Annika

@gorlagon: Hey - that's great! You're a Schalke 04 fan? I originally am from Gelsenkirchen...

I was in the Army, and served in Germany for four years. I really enjoyed my time there, and it is still one of my favourite countries, even took two weeks holiday and went grape-picking in the Mosel Valley, and still consider myself a Shalke 04 fan.

I am German, too, but when I went to school it did not end at 1 o'clock...
