Advantages: Rustic, Quaint, beautiful

Disadvantages: cold, dreary, Germans (tourists)

I am not gay or nothing nor a pothead but I still like to go to the Netherlands. And when I do I have to go out to this place called Ameland. Its like a small little island about 3 miles by 10 miles. I went there because my family had lived there before going to Afrika and I thought it might be fun.
You get there by taking a plane to Amsterdam and then you get on a train. The people will help you do that but they will be all condescending to you for wanting to go there. You got to go to Leeuwarden and then you go find a ferry and ride out there.
There isn't much to do so you rent a bicycle and ride around and go look at all the old villages and stuff. The people have goats and crazy carvings in their yards. They have a beach and you can do birdwatching. It is really very pleasant. Its also kinda funny to see 7 year old kids riding around on their bikes drinking Heineken. I was having a nice visit and really enjoying the museums and stuff they had there. There were also some nice bars.
I got hooked up with the wrong crowd and we got innarculated so bad I couldn't think straight. I got extra credibility because I knew who the local hero, the bass player for the Sleaz Beez, was. Just for the record the Sleaz Beez were the first band to get a label for lyrics from that Fascist Tipper Gore. But we weer all crazy on the hookah and they started thinking I was a cop from the states since my Dutch wasn't right. I got all paranoid and ran away from that place. And it still makes me sad. I wish I would have stayed longer. Its a good weekend trip for someone if they really want to get away and relax. I love the people too
