Ovacik and Hisoranu - amazing! (Other locations...)

The New Golden Gate Hotel, Ovacik, Turkey. I have just returned from this hotel and it was amazing. Ovacik is a mere 1 hours drive from Dalaman airport and is a lovely, scenic part of Turkey. The hotel itself only has 30 rooms, they are quite basic but with air conditioning (payable locally and cheap) and a balcony and small but adequate bathroom that is all we were looking for. We stayed b&b for a week and the rate was very reasonable (check out the website and it has also now been grabbed up by some holiday companies). Whilst there there was only 4 other British couples, the few other guests were Turkish. It often meant it was only the British at the pool - the other guests didnt seem to bother with it. The owner was constantly keeping the pool clean....it was amazing - sometimes felt like you were at a private villa! The walk to Hisoranu (smallish town with restaurants, shops and bars) was only about 200 metres away (not that you'd know it when lazing by the pool) was lovely with some fab restaurants....i'd highly recommend the olive tree and the sun trap! I eat mainloy vegetarian food and there was loads of it, the other half likes his meat and there was pleanty of that too....the food was great!! It was only a 2 minute bus ride to the beach (cost about £1 pp) and the bus comes every 5 mins taking you straight to Olu Deniz beach - lovely but stoney on the way into the water!! Absolutely amazing holiday and would love to go back next year!
