Penrhyn Castle (Penrhyn Castle)
Member Name: poppyash
Advantages: A fantastic day out rain or shine Disadvantages: Can not take buggies around the house
As a member of the National Trust I have visited a number of places around England and Wales. I have on several occasions been to Penrhyn Castle as they have a number of activity days throughout the year which are very entertaining in themselves. I am very impressed by this building that was built between 1820 and 1845. The building is very well presented and the rooms are a delight to walk through especially the dining room which has to be seen to be believed. It never fails to impress me. The bedrooms and the kitchen are also favoutites of mine as they take you back in time by the display of utensils and materials. Each room has a member of staff who will tell you about the artifacts on show and answer any question one might have. There are also a number of exhibitions around the castle including the railway and dolls museums. There are adequate toilet facilities, a fully stocked typical National Trust shop and tea room. Summary: A great day out for the family but facuilities for toddlers very limited. |
