Perth (Australia) ... Western Australia. It is home to approximately 1.5 million people.

Newest Review: ... scrubbing mould off the men's showers anyone?!) Anyhow, on to the actual city. Firstly, as it was my first visit to Australia, I had the idea that we would be seconds from the beach. It's not quite like that in Perth, as its quite far up the Swan river- which is amazing in itself (although it is filled with jelly-fish!). The nearest beach to us was Cottlesloe which was about 15-20 mins by ... more

Perth is the city I've recenty spent about 3 months in. My review will of course be different to others, and that's because I always seem to have the craziest of experiences. I wonder has anyone else stayed at East Backpackers in room 7, next door to the Russian cleaner lady? One night (the walls are fake so we hear everything) she decided to count all night for instance. And I mean all night.. (three in Russian is the same as English!) And then we moved to Aberdeen Lodge, in Northbridge which is like a homeless shelter to be honest before moving on to our cleaning job in Exclusive Backpackers. (Two hours a morning scrubbing mould off the men's showers ...  Read the complete review

***Background*** I promised to write up our year travelling in my recent review on Manly, Australia and thanks to everyone who rated it and nominated it for a crown!! As part of the trip we wanted to do a visit to Perth as we had gotten some free internal Qantas flights in Oz as part of our round the world ticket and thought we may as well fly as far from Sydney as we could given it was free so off we jetted to Perth. Prior to going we booked a hotel on line (web site we used no longer seems active but you can just google the hotel name for plenty of links) and stayed at the Park Royal, Perth for 5 nights but this little trip was simply ...  Read the complete review

People who live in Perth, Western Australia tend to be fiercely proud of their city and with good reason. It is a thriving and prosperous city with beautiful and diverse surrounds with an exciting mix of peoples who have settled there from across the globe. It is a warm city, both in climate and also in spirit, the locals are friendly and welcoming, especially to those who understand their national pride and respect it. Perth is unusual in that although it is a major capital of an Australian state, it is in fact closer to Southeast Asia than it is to any other Australian city. Perhaps this is one reason why those who dwell in Perth are very proud of their city, it ...  Read the complete review

Well, people consider Australia as the lucky country. Beautiful weather, clean cities, nice people - so if you were to live anywhere in Australia, where would it be? I think it would be Perth. This is the fourth biggest city population wise in the country, and is the most secluded capital city on earth. When surveyed through a point system nation wide, Perth came out as the most liveable city in the country. So technically if Australia was the most liveable country in the world, Perth would be the most liveable city in the world!!!! It has the best weather in the country, it's not too over-populated, the tax is small, the rent is cheap, the ...  Read the complete review

I have read all the guides and listened to opinions of friends who had been to Perth, Western Australia before. No ones opinion can prepare you for the true experience. I’m an 18 year old and I went to stay with my uncle. I travelled with my mum and dad and my sister. I know it’s a bit sad at 18 going on holiday with your parents, but come on, this is Australia. I left from Heathrow airport and travelled with Malaysian airways. I wasn’t quite sure what it would be like travelling with a company I’ve never heard of but Malaysian airways were as good as any. The food was not great however. A Snes was in front of me as well as that I ...  Read the complete review
