i booked with pontins in brean sands 8th aug to 15 thinkin it would be great for me and my family for entertainment i checked out the accomadation onlile which looked lovely so i could wait to arrive how disapointed was i the place was dirty the sofa bed was broken the bath leaked everywhere there was a bad smell in bedroom which my daughter had to sleep in the cot was no good and the blankets they gave me were horrible i wouldnt give a dog to sleep on the entertainment was rubbish the staff couldnt crack a smilie how disapointin esp it our first holiday as a family

Just got back from a short Break at Pontins Southport with myself, boyfriend and my three kiddies so here is my review. What Is Pontins? Pontin's is a British holiday company founded in 1946 by Fred Pontin. It specialises in offering half-board and self-catering holidays with regular entertainment on offer. Accommodation is usually in the form of chalets. The company once grew to be a major operator of seaside holiday accommodation, but has now shrunk considerably. I've visited Pontins 4 times, but not for a considerable time, the first being around 1994 at their Blackpool site, The second around 2002 at Brean Sands and the latter 2 at Southport. I have good and bad memories of my 1st visit. It was full board and the majority (if not all the cost) was paid by the Family Fund, a charity aimed at those on low incomes with disabled children - and what they provided, well I can't thank them enough for what they did for us at that time. Our family visited Pontins at Prestatyn in 1992 and it was a really dirty run-down site then, and it seems it still is! On arriving, we actually drove past the entrance twice as I could not believe that this was Pontins! After queuing for a long time to receive keys to chalet, we nervously went to find our 'holiday home'. The chalets were run-down concrete blocks which did not look at all appealing from the outside, and I am sorry to say things were no better inside.
