Advantages: Lots to do on site, Reasonably priced for accommedation

Disadvantages: can get busy so can get crowded.

Pontins is based near Ainsdale Beach it is also quite close to the local shops of Southport.

OVERVIEW

I took up one of Pontins special offers for a 3 night stay about a month ago.
Pontins does have a lot of specials mainly for long weekends mostly 3 and 4 nights.
It is less expensive to go in school time plus it isn't as busy as it is out of school time.
If you do go at weekends or half terms then you will be queuing for activities for at least an hour as the facilities are possibly not big enough to cope with a few thousand people that go.

ACCOMMODATION

.I did not find the budget apartments very nice it really was basic in every way.
Although there are classic apartments which are nearer to the amenities and more comfortable at a higher charge of around £50 compared to budget.
They also have club apartments which are opposite the activities you would also get free electricity, sky tv ,microwave and bed linen at the extra cost of around £100 compared to budget. You have to pay a fee for bed linen in budget and classic apartments..
You also have to pay for electricity which costs a lot for lighting shower tv plus if it is not very warm weather, you would need to use the heating. The heaters are blow-out style so they do not actually generate much heat except for the one in the toilet.

FOOD SERVICE AREAS

I found the food service areas quite cheap but the meals were not that nice. You had on offer the pub restaurant ,fish and chip shop and a fried chicken place. There was a hot dog shop but that was only open of an evening.
When it is busy you could be waiting up to 1hr for your food which is not good when you have small children.

ACTIVITIES

The facilities for children were good with plenty of activities to keep children happy such as a swimming pool, play area, adventure playground and go karts.

FACILITIES

The facilities for adults were limited there was only mainly daytime and nightime entertainment and maybe the small arcade.
The entertainment complexes were good for children and adults alike as of an evening they catered for both like they had captain croc and his gang to keep children amused then about 10pm it would change to adult entertainment like the bluecoats singing and dancing show.

SHOPS

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The on site shop was very expensive for everyday items which normally would not cost much in other shops like for example for two scourers it cost around 90p however there is a supermarket just down the road a short car journey away.
