Advantages: great entertainment for kids, plenty to do, and the beach

Disadvantages: slight expensive in the local shop, dirty carpet

Pontins Southport..is my Daughters favorite holiday, and it was very cheap and cheerful.
I took my 2yr old there for 4 nights in september, on a budget.This was one of the best holidays ive had in England , the perfect break that was needed at the time.
I found the site very easy to find as once we hit Southport main train station, we just jumped on another train for a couple of stops. The walk to the site takes about 10/ 15 minutes which isnt far if you dont have loads of luggage, but a small fee if you were to get a taxi.
We stayed in a budhget room , which i must says very basic , however you get a telly and clean towels etc, The room it self iwould give 7/ 10 for cleanliness as the carpet was stained rather alot, but this was a cheap holiday.
The staff there are very friendly and made my daughter feel comfortable she loved the entertainment as ther is p[lenty of family acctivities during the day for young and older children. Including shows, swimming , amusments etc.
My daughter absoloutley loved the captain Croc and the monkey which on the nightly shows she was exstatic and all the staff made her and me feel welcome.
We went self catering and found that the little shop on there is a little dearer than most , but conveniant to buy food in , there is also a conveniance store a 10 minute walk away, and a pub that serves food across the road however.
They also have a park there which is great for all chioldrens ages along with other activities including go carting , and abseiling.
The whole of the site is well maintained and i found no litter lying around. We did get placed a few doors away from a roudy group , but the security staff soon sorted this out quietly and suffciently , making sure weveryone concerned was to enjoy the rest of the stay.
The site is of a perfect location as the beach is only a 2 minute walk away and free, an its only 10 minutes on the bus to many attractions and shops in Southport town centre.
Myself and my aughter loved this short break away so i booked another visit there and got discount whilst i was there. This time we are going superior so i shall geta nice clean , and extras on our next visit this year, and i goit discount for booking whilst already staying there, so a good deal.
