Advantages: Cheap hols, free entertainment in the night.

Disadvantages: Not much to do in the daytime, especially for younger children.

PONTINS BURNHAM BREAN SANDS

My wife, I and our (then) two children stayed in Pontins Brean Sands on a Sun holidays cheap deal. We arrived knowing that the apartments would be basic, but boy they were 1960s basic! We immediately upgraded (believe it was about £100 to upgrade) to the top-level apartments which were a lot better and far more modern with a patio and all the mod-cons etc.

There was nightly entertainment which was okay (kids - 2 and 4yrs old - enjoyed), and the evening meant that the venue came alive. The daytime was disappointing and due to the location there was very little to do each day. There were arcades for older kids and small play areas but the children quickly grew bored so we headed to nearby towns such as Weston Super Mare etc. There are lots of nice towns and villages to visit, it is definitely somewhere to take the car as otherwise you may be stuck.

There are one or two 'fun parks' and similar very close to Pontins, but not a great deal that was suitable for younger children.

The site is easy to find, and always very busy.

My main advice would be to consider your accommodation and think of things to do in the day as you'll quickly get bored on site.

Summary: Great for a cheap holiday though remember the basic accomodation is extremely basic!!
