Advantages: Cheap booze, great nightlife, lots of culture and attractions

Disadvantages: None

I recently visited Prague for a long weekend with my mum for her birthday (and to also cheer me up from the post holiday blues - after visiting Venice with my boyfriend - why is it you always need a holiday after a holiday?), so we left my dad at home and jetted off to do some sight-seeing (which he was quite jealous about). Prague is exceptionally beautiful, with loads of quaint charm, buckets of culture and an excellent dash of awesome nightlife - it's a destination that has a lot to offer for all different ages.

Every day we were there we packed as much as we could in, we managed to see the Tyn Church, which was stunning and had a wander around the old square. We didn't get to go in the museam as it was about to close by the time we got there, and we'd left it till our last day to take a visit, which was a shame.

We visited many different bars and pubs and found the locals to be very warm and friendly, there's also an excellent 80s / 90s club night held in one of the bars (the name of which slips my mind - which isn't very helpful I know!) which was great fun.

The restaurants we went to were all lovely and the Czechs are excellent chefs - something which I was quite suprised about as I hadn't heard much about Czech cuisine, but it was delicious and I definately recommend you check out some of the local delicacies.

Although I've only spent 4 days there, Prague is now one of my favourite destinations. I love travelling and have stayed in many wonderful cities all over the world, but Prague is definately a gem - there really is something for everyone. It's obviously a very popular destination for hen and stag parties and young people alike who are impressed with the cheap beer, but aside from the party atmosphere and nightlife, there's also a lot of culture and things to see during the day, it's a place where you'll never get bored :).

Summary: A Vibrant City that appeals to all ages

I love Prague - we got engaged there. Was so cheap when we went as well but I expect prices are starting to catch up now
