Puerto de Pollensa

Newest Review: ... generation, northern Majorca is more catered towards the family. Puerto Pollensa is quite quiet and whilst there's great restaurants and a picturesque harbour which houses some stunning boats, if you want to do more than just lie on the beach all day you'll need to hire a car to explore. There's a great little pizza/italian place opposite the marina which is a must to go to - delicious! There is an Irish pub and a couple of bars including some karaoke haunts, but nothing too lively. There is one nightclub that doesn't open til 1am and is only busy after about 3am with the locals. You would never find it unless you had looked it up either... more

Premium Review Puerto de Pollensa: Great family resort - lovely atmosphere (562 words)

Puerto Pollensa in the north of the balaeric island of Majorca is a great family resort. About a 40 minute transfer from Palma airport, Puerto Pollensa is a resort based in a horse shoe shaped bay surrounded by mountains - which gives it quite a unique and romantic feel. With the warm, calm and shallow waters of the Meditteranean, the waters are perfect for the kids. The area is quiet but bustling with restaurants along the waterfront, known as Pine Walk; perfect for dining out at night and watching the sea (although the waters are so calm you don't get many waves). Puerto Pollensa is picturesque little town just north of the bay of Alcudia on the North-East coast of Mallorca. While some parts of Mallorca such as Magaluf on the South West Coast are known for their party atmosphere and attract reams of young clubbers looking for an 18-30 club experience, the North of the island could not be more different. Quieter and much less developed, this is the Mallorca I love. There are enough hotels to provide reasonably priced accommodation but Puerto Pollensa is more suited to villa and apartment living. There is a main square in the middle of town which houses the majority of the restaurants and bars and the famous ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Puerto de Pollensa: Puerto De Pollensa - relaxing family holiday! (466 words)

Puerto Pollensa is on the north west coast of Majorca / Mallorca and is approx 1.5 hr drive from the airport at Palma - and although it is one of the largest routes from the airport to a tourist resort - it isnt actually as bad as it seems. The old Roman town of Pollensa actually lies about 5km inland from the coast - and is a fabulous day out if your into that kind of thing. Narrow streets dating back to the 18th century... it really is an interesting day out. Pollensa is actually part of Alcudia. Puerto Pollensa has a beautiful little port full of luxury yachts and coloured fishing boats. There are also a few natural beaches in the ...  Read the complete review
