Advantages: Nice beach, selection of bars, restaurants and shops

Disadvantages: Not a party resort, entertainment is limited to hotels.

Sa Coma is situated on the east coast os Majorca aka Mallorca - almost midway between Cala Millor and Porto Cristo.

Its approx 65km from the airport - which can take up to 2 hr transfer time to your hotel.

Sa Coma is a modern purpose built resort that started getting more popular in the 1980's and since has continued to grow. It offers a great selection of bars, restaurants and souvenier shops - many of which are british owned.

The public transport around the resort (and most of the east coast) is very unreliable - but for those that dont mind a challenge, there are runs into Palma 4 times a day - a word of warning though - sometimes the buses do not come back, and therefore you could find yourself stranded in Palma, so make sure you take some money for a taxi just in case.

Sa Coma does have a beautiful sandy beach with the usual selections of waterspors and beach facilities including windsurfing, pedaloe hire etc.

Behind the beach is a pedestrianised promenade that runs the full length of the resort.

You can even venture into the neighbouring town of S'illot, which you can get to by the footbridge over the freshwater lagoon and also a slightly longer road bridge. However do not expect the two resorts to be similar - they are not... while Sa Coma is a modernised tourist resort, S'illot used to be a fishing village and still has the little old fishing boats moored up on the rocks. And Sa Coma does have better hotels, but S'illot has better self catering apartments.

If you are looking for parties through the night, karoke bars, loud entertainment and discos then Sa Coma is not the place for you. The Entertainment is usually only found in the hotels, there are a few bars that play music and are open quite late, but nothing too rowdy or party like.
But if its the bright lights and loud music that your wanting - simply hop in a taxi and venture to the nearby resort of Cala Millor which will be more suited to your tastes.

Summary: Ideal getaway for those wanting a relaxing day by the sea and a quiet drink in the evening
