Advantages: cheap, friendly, family atmosphere, loads to do

Disadvantages: far away...(spain!)

I have just been on the best holiday ever. There are a few reasons this could be. Now i have to breif you quickly - i have travelled a lot as a child, spent a lot of time in the caribbean, the states and the far east, and stayed in many places, though mostly the 5 star, best-hotel-in-town sort of places. rich parents.
So when i come back from a cheap package holiday in spain, and say it is the best i have ever been on, you have to believe me.
Could it have been the fact that it was the first trip with with boyfriend? who knows. I went with 3 others, 2 couples. Me and my partner and our flatmates.
We stayed in the Salou Suites apartments on the main street in salou. Well, to put it simply, we didnt sleep till at least 6am every night. It was so loud and busy outside.
The beaches are lovely and very nice, clean water, but i have never in my life seen such a busy beach as the main salou beach. There is a smaller beach further round from the main one, past the cliffs and it is a lot smaller, but just as nice and quieter. Though still really busy!
We ate in a lot of places, mostly the same food, smae prices etc, but if you go down to the main beach where all the restaurants are posher and pricier, in the shopping area, there is a lovely restaurant called la quinca which is absoloutley beautiful food and the prices are cheap by comparison to the chinese and the pizzeria on either side of it. about £20 for a 2 course meal for 4, including sangria!

Then, the only place to go in salou for a good night - especially if you are scottish but even if your not - is the Rovers Return. It is on the cliffside between the 2 beaches and it is owned by a guy from falkirk called lenny. It is great for kids as well, with about 4 games a night for the kids, plus treasure hunts, bingo and quizzes that the kids can all get involved in. They show new films during the day, for example last week they were showing shrek, pearl harbour, the mexican etc. We watch
ed livebig brother final, a celtic match etc.
I have never had such a good night as i had in that pub. If you are thiniing of going on holiday, this is a must.
When you get there tell lenny that lisa, brian, colin and joanne from edinburgh told you to come - you might get a free drink! we got plenty!
Try a tequila sunrise - i lived on that for a week!
Say hi to conrad, liz and gareth.

I can guarantee you will never find a better pub in the world!
