We visited Samoa during mid November 2008 as part of our honeymoon. Here are our do's and donts! DONT: Do not rent a car at Savaii Rentals, they only have cars in which somebody died allready or you might be the first one!!! Bad (and rude) service! Do not stay in Kitano Hotels in Apia. Dirty, old, expensive, curtains were solving by themselves allready. DO! / Positive review: Do eat at Paddles in the harbour of Apia!!! Go there for diner, an afternoon beer, or the best fish and chips during lunch! The best food, the friendliest people! Hotel Central in Apia: very good value for money! Samoa is the original "treasure island". Robert Louis Stevenson wrote his famed novel after this tiny pacific nation. I visited here because I wanted to get as far away from home as physically possible, and it really does feel like you are about to fall off the edge of the map. Arrival will be either by Air New Zealand or Virgin Blue/Pacific Blue, who each have flights 3/4 times weekly. Air NZ also connect to Los Angeles and Tonga.
