Advantages: Definately for elderly people, or families with young children
Disadvantages: Not a party place, don't go here if you want nightime fun
When I have wrote reviews on various places I have been to I have usually only visited there once, as I like to travel around and see new places, so I give my opinion on what I found at the time. However with this review, I think I am more than qualified to give my opinion on this resort as I have visited this resort for more than 15 years!
This was our favourite family holiday destination, and since I was 5 years old, this is where our annual holiday would be. I am an only child, so I would always take someone with me, usually one or two of my very many cousins! Year after year our holiday party just seemed to get bigger, with aunties and uncles and cousins all joining us in this resort for 2 weeks. After we had been there a few years we started to stay at the Marsol Apartments. There are very basic self catering apartments, there is no pool. The advantage of these apartments is the location, slap bang on the beach front. We once heard a man phoning home saying he pratically has to roll out of his bed and he is on the beach!
What you may be thinking is that I have been here many times but it may have been a long time ago, the last time I went here was when I was 17 years old. (I am only 21 now!). However I still feel I can review this resort as my parents still stay here, and have not longed returned back from a 2 week stay. I think it is an interesting point to be able to compare how the resort has changed over they years.
Beach
The beach is a good beach, if you have other reviews from me, you'll know that I am a beach lover. The beach is clean and there are 3 or 4 different beaches which you can choose from. They are all very clean. The sea is your typical europe sea, there are stones and shells as you walk into the sea and the further you walk out the less of them there are. Over the years we had a few jelly fish stings, luckily I got away with it. If you have children, this could be the ideal place for you. You have the opportunity to sit at the bar of the marsol apartments, relax and chat with your friends or the friendly staff while watching your children playing on the beach. The years in which we went we played every game going on the beach. We had rounders tournaments, football, bat n ball, running races. The great thing about it was that we would start with 5 or 6 of us, and by the end everyone was joining in! Around 20 children and adults would be there playing away having a great time! You will often find the little girls making up dances on the beach and then havin there parents watch them like they are on a little stage! It truley is a great place!
Ok, well there is more to Santa Eulalia than the Beach!.....(I'l try to keep it brief or else I could be writing for days!)
Shops
Numerous amount of shops, your tyical tourist shops and then you also have designer shops. There is a large shopping store, which ranges form perfumes to football shirts! It also has great air conditioning! There is also a market in the town centre, which also has a range of products, from bracelets, ornaments, purses etc. It is also here when you can get the characteur pictures done, or portraits drawings. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets where you should be able to find all that you need.
Resturants
Having always gone self catering, we always found a place to eat. The marsol apartments restuarants has great food, so if you did visit I would definately recommend there! There is also Mels Bar, which does great English food, my mum says they do a great sunday dinner there now too! Ross Bar is also somewhere we dined out to a lot this has a great choice of foods, and is also a great place to eat in the day as well!
Bars
Santa Eulalia is not a party place, its not somewhere you would find your 18-30 groups. There are a few bars around Santa Eulalia, where you would be able to find a nice place to sit and have a quiet drink. When we visited there years ago, we were regular visitors of a bar called 'Mariners' This was all set outside and it was the place to be. They had great shows, great staff who became friends, pool tables etc. It was busy every night, however now I am told it is not the same place, and became taken over by spanish teenages causing trouble, shame really as it was an excellent place to go at night time! If you do want a party holiday then this part of Ibiza isnt the place for you.
Harbour
There is a great harbour in Santa Eulalia where you can walk up and down looking at all the posh boats you cant afford. There are also bars here wher you can look out over the harbour.
The other part of the harbour is where you can take trips out by boat to different areas of Ibiza. It is a quick and exciting way to see Ibiza from sea instead of taking the bus or taxi's. (Which there is plenty of however!)
Transport
As I have said there is plenty of transport to take you around the island. One point to mention is beware with little children when gettin onto the bus, as not everyone queus like us Brits! There is also a train (long carriages on wheels) that takes you around Santa Eulalia, and takes you to a museum, this is a good trip, although the price has gone up now, and Im not sure if its worth the money! But if you want something to do then try this out!
I enjoyed this holiday resort and it is definately somewhere I'd visit in the future if I have children of my own. It is not for young people wanting to party. It is a quiet area of Ibiza which people dont really talk about or think about when they think of Ibiza. I love it here, and so do my parents as they still go here on their annual holiday 15 years on!
If you do want to know anything else about this resort or the hotels here, they just ask! I love talking aboyt this place as you may have noticed!
Summary: Beautiful part of the island
