I have had the pleasure of visiting Santa Ponsa on no less than 6 occassions over a 15 year period, and it has to be one of my favourite places in Mallorca. Only about 40 mins from the airport, it is to the South of the Island, about 15 mins from Magalluf, but far enough away from the rowdiness.

Santa Ponsa nestles around the beautiful beach in a horse shoe shape and is wonderful for families and couples. The left side of the bay is quieter than the right, with scatterings of restaurants and a few good british pubs and the right side has an Irish theme to it, with lots of bars, a club or two and plenty of shops and restaurants. Take a 10 minute walk up to the Square and you will find a very large open square surrounded by bars where entertainment is on in the open air every night. Tribute acts such as Queen, Tina Turner, Take That tributes etc are a great place for all the family to sit and relax and unwind after a lazy day at the beach.

If you don't want the bright lights of the Irish quarter of Santa Ponsa, then i would recommend the Rey Don Jamie Hotel, just off the main beach road. Santa Ponsa is not a huge place so it has a lovely quaint feeling about it but parts of it come to life in the evening and cater for all tastes.

The beach, with its golden sands and beautiful bay, has a relaxing and calming feel to it and all the locals go there on a Sunday with their families. The bus service is excellent and there are lots of lovely places around Santa Ponsa to visit.
