Lloret De Mar (Spain):
... De Mar is in the Costa Brava region of sunny Spain! I have recently just returned home from a week long break there after finishing my first year of University. The place on a whole is very nice. Before I went I had never heard of it- which worried me a little! But after being there for a few days I realised it had all the makings of a fun holiday! Firstly I stayed in the Samba Hotel (waiting for dooyoo to a... Read the full review: Read for holiday shots of me in my bikini :p by superfrog86 |

El Arenal ... be lucky to find a group of English people. However being a student of German i was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the resort immensely. This place is like Germany with a hot sunny beach with its Bavarian restaurants, buy one get one free litres of beer, Bavarian flags, German clubs with German music. In fact there is not much of Spain left here. It is quite dead during the Winter but it is more like a club 18-30s for German speakers during the Summer months. The Area This particular beach is famous in Germany "Ballermann 6". The main strip is divided into numbered sections and 6 is where the best part of the beach is, although it is also a busy area wi... Read the full review: Non-German speakers beware! by bkecky |

Magaluf ... worked in Magaluf for four summers so am well placed to review it - the reputation of the area (ie: drunken/"chavy") is reasonabely accurate although it has changed somewhat in the past few years. The area has a main "strip" which is full of bar after bar - most shut at 4am and some have dancefloors as well. Most will also have a PR on the front door who will try to persaude you to come in - a gentle "im meeting my friends in "x" bar" is suffice for them not to hassle you in- but bear in mind if you want to go in a bar they are the best people to take you to the bar as they can give you lots of free things and you can argue for mo... Tossa de Mar ... on holiday to Spain many times but never this far north. The Costa Brava is not as hot as southern Costas but then I did go in April! It s probably better in the summer months. I really liked this place which to be honest I was surprised about - most people I know who ve been there said it was a dump! Well I found it to be the opposite in fact. Tossa de Mar is a lovely, clean place with friendly locals and quiet streets. The rowdier lot go into bigger resorts such as Lloret so it tends to be couples, older people and young families in Tossa which all adds to the quiet, relaxed feel of the place. The beach is not very good - it s lovely and sandy to look at bu... Read the full review: The old town's the best part by Tupps |
