Can Pastilla:
... an Pastilla is located on the south coast of Majorca / Mallorca - and the transfer time from the airport to resort is just 20 minutes! One small problem though with the resort being so close to the airport - and that is the aircraft noise that you will most definately hear - but for those that enjoy plane watching, its ideal... you can sit on the beach and watch the planes land and take off several times throughout... Callas de Mallorca ... De Majorca / Mallorca is a modern purpose built resort on the east coast of the island . The transfer time into resort from the airport is approx. 1.5 - 2 hrs... Overall the resort is quiet and generally relaxed, and is probably best suited to the travellers wanting a base to explore from. Public transport on the east coast is not reliable at all - you can catch a bus that takes you into Palma, but a word or warning - make sure you take some extra money with you, just in case the bus driver decides he has had enough for the day and goes home - it has been known to happen, and for the tourists that wasnt aware of the laid back public transport - have been stranded... Porto Cristo ... resort of Porto Cristo is located in the area of Manacor - and is situated on the east coast of Majorca and is about 40 miles from the airport. There are two interesting theories on how the resort got its name - which literally translates to Port of Christ. The first theory comes from 1260AD , a fishing boat carrying a crucifix was washed ashore here, and the 2nd theory is 2 oxen where carrying an icon of Christ through the town, they stopped here and refused to move any further, so the icon stayed and the town was renamed in its honour. Cala D'or ... d Or is a very smart looking resort. Its situated on the southern half of the east coast of Majorca / Mallorca. The resort is approx 40miles from the airport - so transfer from the airport to the hotel will take approx 1.5 - 2 hrs. Cala d Or is a modern, purpose built resort that has expanded from a small fishing village, and it now covers over 4km of sandy coves and bays. And although the resort has grown, it still has the feel of a small village, with hardly any tall high rise buildings.
