Advantages: A combination of old and new, town and beach
Disadvantages: Two weeks is not enough.
This has to be Sicily's 'Jewel in the Crown'. A combination of history and culture , combined with elegance. The town is perched on the hill of Monte Tauro and has magnificent views of the two sweeping bays below.
Mount Etna offers a breathtaking backdrop.
Stroll along the Corso Umberto, the towns main street, and experience delightful cafes and pastry shops , see the art exhibitions in the palazzi.
Down below the town is a delightful beach reached by a funicular railway.
This is Sicily at its best.
