Tossa de MarNewest Review: ... and sandy to look at but painful to walk on! It's that shingle stuff and it hurts after a bit. Plus I got tons of it in my eyes which wasn't great. The best thing about Tossa, like most Spanish resorts, is the old town. It looks like a castle but it isn't - it's just a walled town with a couple of 'lookout' bits but within these walls is where you will find the old town. Lovely old cobbled streets, picturesque bars and shops, and a tiny church right in the middle, the old town is really lovely but again, being April, it was very quiet when I was there - I think in the summer months, this area would be great when everything's bustling... more |

Been on holiday to Spain many times but never this far north. The Costa Brava is not as hot as southern Costas but then I did go in April! It's probably better in the summer months. I really liked this place which to be honest I was surprised about - most people I know who've been there said it was a dump! Well I found it to be the opposite in fact. Tossa de Mar is a lovely, clean place with friendly locals and quiet streets. The rowdier lot go into bigger resorts such as Lloret so it tends to be couples, older people and young families in Tossa which all adds to the quiet, relaxed feel of the place. The beach is not very good - it's lovely and sandy to ... Read the complete review

ABOUT TOSSA DE MAR Tossa de Mar is very up and coming as it appeals to couples and families, although it does not really cater for youngsters or those looking for a 18-30 clubbing holiday, there are bars and clubs situated all around Tossa de Mar so you can also go and have a good drink, without having to cope with young drunk teenagers everywhere. Tossa consists of 150 meters of fantastic beaches and stunning scenery, Tossa de Mar also boasts that it is one of the only coasts in the world, which is surrounded by nice green forests, this therefore makes it very desirable for visitors from all over the globe. This resort is situated in ... Read the complete review

Originally written July 2007 on my Ciao account. I got back from a week in Tossa De Mar on Saturday night, it was my first visit to the area so I wasn't altogether sure of what it would be like there, or what to expect from the holiday. The night we arrived (at about 2am) we found a bar to have a drink in, unfortunately it wasn't serving food (just ice cream) which was a pain as we were all starving, and couldn't seem to find anywhere to buy some food. So my first piece of advice is to make sure you have enough to eat before arriving if you're arriving at a silly time at night. My first impressions of the resort were that it was ... For an activity week me and all my friends went to Tossa de Mar. There was a large choice of water sports which was mainly why we went there. It is a lovely area which is not to dominated by tourism, yet still has the husstle and busstle of the night life. The beach is gorgeous with golden white warm sands, and the sea is as clear as looking through a window. There is a lot to see when you go snorkelling, however watch out for the jelly fish. There are even hidden caves you can kayak too. But watch out for the congo eels! And the gummy sharks!! :D The town is mainly pedestrainised apart from the odd moped. And there are two gorgeous sweet shops where the ... Read the complete review

Tossa de Mar is an unspoilt resort on the stunning Costa Brava. It's steeped in history, and overlooked by a wonderful 'castle' that blends seamlessly into the new town. Although it's geared up for tourists, it's not over-commercialised and there are strictly no high-rise buildings. The 'castle' is actually a 12th century walled town - the Vila Vella - which dominates the views in this village and gives the whole place a lordly air. There are three main beaches, all pristine and with access for the disabled. Restaurants abound, and the smell of freshly caught fish sizzling away on the grill makes your mouth water as you stroll along the promenade ... Read the complete review
